Kembla Grange Tips September 19
Dapto Citizens Bowling Club Class 1 Tips (Race 1)
Kembla Grange Value Bet - Race 1 No. 5 Empress Of Japan
I wouldn't judge her too harshly on the last of 15 finish when contesting a Group 2 at the end of her first prep, as the filly blundered at the 800m when finding heels.
Empress Of Japan contested the Percy Sykes Stakes following an impressive debut win at Gosford, where she needed every inch of 1100m when coming from the rear.
While she wouldn't of won, the daughter of Savabeel still should've finished closer fresh at Newcastle, as she found trouble at a key stage and up in trip suits here.
Gerringong Bowlo BM64 Handicap Tips (Race 4)
Kembla Grange Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 6 Admitted
This Godolphin three-year-old has been gelded ahead of his spring return and he's been given plenty of time since failing as fav in the Maribyrnong Plate last spring.
Dublin Down (two-time Group 3 winner) turned the tables on Admitted in that feature after the son of Brazen Beau led throughout on debut when they clashed at Bendigo.
He had a slow recovery after that second run and leading into this, he won an 800m trial before a third in a strong Randwick heat, where he wasn't knocked about late.
Phil Ryan Memorial Super Maiden Handicap Tips (Race 6)
Kembla Grange Roughie - Race 6 No. 13 Zielle
Although she was well held on both occasions, there clearly some opinion of Zielle in her first prep, with the daughter of Denman contesting two metro maidens.
The Gary Nickson-trained galloper has improved in her second campaign, with good closing splits in two appearances and she was a month between runs second-up.
Off her latest effort over 1350m at Newcastle, 1500m is well worth a try for Zielle and along being right down in the weights after a claim, she can also land closer from gate one.
Wests Illawarra BM64 Handicap Tips (Race 7)
Kembla Grange Best Bet - Race 7 No. 3 Colours Of Autumn
I've always had time for Colours Of Autumn and while she beat nothing via a second-up romp at Newcastle last start, that September 3 triumph was the kill she needed.
Only race fitness was the difference between her and Headstock prior to that at Kembla Grange, with that fresh tilt coming in this grade and 1500m should suit now.
A lot of the Autumn Sun progeny are furnishing as late three-year-old's/early four-year-old's and the form around her first few preps suggests she's at least city class.
