Ipswich Tips November 29

Rose Jensen Kent Lawyers Maiden Plate Tips (Race 4)

Ipswich Roughie - Race 4 No. 11 Rupert’s Jewell

Chris Munce’s filly showed up well in a couple of barrier trials before making her debut at the Sunshine Coast earlier this month.

The daughter of Winning Rupert was never a factor having raced from off the pace when tackling a 1000m maiden on that occasion.

A tongue tie going on here indicates that she may have choked down in that first appearance, so looked for an improved showing.

That Sunshine Coast contest is producing winners, with the first home registering a Class 1 victory since and the seventh-placed What A Weekend won here last week.

Connections scratched from two 1000m maiden races at Sunshine Coast on November 24 to contest this assignment.

Sammut Bulow Colts, Geldings & Entires Benchmark 65 Handicap Tips (Race 5)

Ipswich Best Bet - Race 5 No. 10 A Lot Of Booty

The four-year-old has been in good form in the main this prep, including when breaking his maiden by just under half-a-length over 800m on September 27.

The gelding proved that he can be competitive against winners, placing in each of his last three starts, including in a track/trip Class 1 handicap here three starts back.

The son of Sir Prancealot heads into this contest on the back of a third in a Class 1 handicap at Doomben on November 15.

A Lot Of Booty encountered trouble in running having raced close to the speed at Doomben and he has regular pilot James Orman staying aboard.

Barrier six is a positive on Wednesday and this Benchmark 68 does look very winnable.

Great Northern Class 5 Handicap Tips (Race 7)

Ipswich Value Bet - Race 7 No. 5 Lime Soda

Trainer Adam Campton has his horses in good form at present, with the trainer having saddled four winners since November 18.

The handler’s representative here showed up well when delivering a second-place finish in a 1000m handicap at Sunshine Coast first-up.

The winner of that contest gave that form a boost when saluting at Sunshine Coast two starts later.

Lime Soda delivered a decent effort, having been forced to race wide in the early stages before fading late when three lengths sixth over 1000m at Eagle Farm on October 14.

The third and ninth that day have gone on to boost the Eagle Farm form with subsequent victories and the mare tackles an easier contest here.

Ipswich Next Best Bet - Race 8 No. 1 Crazy Brave

The gelding has registered three solid efforts in defeat so far this prep, including when third over this course and distance in a similar race to this last month.

Crazy Brave was beaten less than two-and-a-half-lengths, having raced close to the speed on a Good 3 track that day.

While the four-year-old failed to build on that when four lengths fifth, it’s of note that that effort came when stepped up to 1400m for the first time.

That form from that 1400m event from Eagle Farm has worked out nicely, with subsequent wins for the first and sixth since.

This looks like an easier contest and while Crazy Brave shoulders top weight here, he should be at peak fitness with three runs under his belt.
