Race 1 - 11:20AM St Johns Park 2yo Clarendon Stakes Tips (1400m)
Selections: 5,3,1,11.
In a raffle, we'll side with 5. BURGUNDER, who will push on from out wide. There was money ahead of his 1100m debut at Hawkesbury, where he whacked away despite finding the 1100m too sharp. The first foal out of the 2017 VRC Oaks winner Pinot, straight to 1400m should be beneficial and the improvement from his first to second trial did stand out.
3. Basquiat gets J-Mac for start two, who jumps off Cadetship and a Coolmore-owned colt (Political Debate). Briefly appeared to have his March 23 debut won before racing a greenly and has had a tick-trial.
1. Green Shadows has shown a nice turn-of-foot to go 2/2, the latest a soft victory over this trip in Brisbane. There's more depth here, however.
11. Invasive arrives off seconds behind Green Shadows and Owen County. so warrants some thought at a big price ($26.00 @
Palmerbet).
Race 2 - 11:55AM TAB Highway Handicap Tips (1100m)
Selections: 4,6,3,7.
4. EXTRAVAGENT LAD sat wide and recorded an easy win first-up last prep over this distance. A disappointing Highway attempt followed, but he bounced back with two strong Canberra showings, including a Class 2 scalp against some useful types. With plenty of speed drawn to his outside, he's perhaps one that can take a trail here.
6. Hardware Lane hasn't been able to progress after an Albury maiden romp last spring, although has a nice third-up platform for this grade, coming out of a fast-run provincial BM64. He does love soft ground.
3. I'm Not Slew was tipped out off back-to-back wins, including a provincial BM64 and has trialled up superbly. Has also accepted at Muswellbrook on Friday.
7. Trumped Up will try launch late under Pike, who was aboard for last Friday's victory. Harder here, but is going well.
Race 3 - 12:30PM Midway Handicap Tips (1500m)
Selections: 10,16,7,1.
10. HARVEY'S WAY was a great price in a BM64 last Thursday, where back on firmer ground, he loomed like the winner before wanting to duck in late under an apprentice, so a strong senior in Bowman on is a big tick. He never got through a Heavy 10 second-up, but a Heavy 8 or better should be okay, so a lot depends on the forecast.
16. Short Shorts was a second-up Hawkesbury winner and should be unbeaten on her home track. Put in a shocker via a listed tilt at Randwick, but not judging any horse too harshly from that very tricky surface.
7. Bluff 'N' Bluster was in the wrong part of the track fresh and now gets William Pike. Long odds ($34.00 @
Palmerbet), but his last prep form is quite strong for a Midway.
3. French Bonnet saluted second-up, albeit had a perfect run and has to carry another 2.5kg here from a wide gate.
Race 4 - 1:05PM Blakes Marine BM78 Handicap Tips (1800m)
Selections: 1,5,3,6.
1. KALAPOUR is a lightly raced import who won over 2551m at start two and first-up in Australia off a very quiet trial, was able to win softly over 1500m at Hawkesbury, rolling an in-form Marnix, who was good the start prior in a listed affair. With the Dylan Gibbons claim, he carries 1.5kg less for staying in a BM78 and step to 1800m is perfect.
5. Deepstrike is a classy Victorian that bounced back at Sandown before going up in grade to win again at Caulfield. Given the run he had to sustain, there was more merit to that than margin suggests.
I'd be surprised if the winner doesn't come from the above two, albeit 3. Mr Gee has been freshened-up from a Canberra Cup and is well up to BM78 level.
6. Born A King has to turn tables on Kalapour from April 13, but has strong second-up stats and that was a solid return.
Race 5 - 1:40PM Living Turf BM78 Handicap Tips (1100m)
Selections: 11,8,9,2.
11. FOX FIGHTER arrives hard fit and either side of a second-up shocker, he's found the line well, which included a fresh placing behind the classy Mazu. This gelding should've bolted in over this trip third-up last prep, while he hasn't finished outside the top two in three Hawkesbury attempts. Can get a midfield trail under Sam Clipperton.
8. Authentic Jewel won three races last prep, while the narrow defeat when splitting Bacchanalia and King Of Sparta indicates a stakes race is within reach. Draws for a soft run and has won both lead-up trials.
9. Najmaty faded out as the spring wore on, but rebounded in style on resumption at Caulfield with a slick finish off a wide run. Have to respect in BM78 grade.
2. Rainbow Connection is classy, but is first-up off long spell, having not raced since a second in last year's Hawkesbury Guineas.

Race 6 - 2:15PM Hawkesbury XXXX Gold Rush Tips (1100m)
Selections: 2,6,1,8.
2. MALKOVICH has failed in both heavy track attempts, albeit still has the best peak soft track figures in this small field and none of these rivals will be taking him on. With a big trial win after The Galaxy flop, he has a 5kg weight swing on Eleven Eleven from their Kembla clash last spring, a key rival that hasn't won in seven first-up outings.
They don't come much more genuine than 6. Tycoonist, who has finished in the money via 10 of his last 11 starts, with the miss being a fourth. Handles any conditions and with just 54kg, is a big player here fresh.
1. Eleven Eleven is the best horse in this and he'll be targeted at a Stradbroke over winter. On ability, he's obviously a threat, but will likely need the run.
8. Our Bellagio Miss should get first look at the fav and could sneak some black-type on to her CV given the kind map.
Race 7 - 2:50PM Blacktown Workers Hawkesbury Guineas Tips (1400m)
Selections: 1,4,11,6.
1. MR MOZART appeared to be going nowhere early in the prep, but a return to NSW and a drop in grade saw him record back-to-back victories. He rolled Our Playboy at Newcastle, a four-year-old that won his next start and this colt is now back against his own age. That Doncaster Prelude form does stand out in the Hawkesbury Guineas.
4. Flying Crazy has won at stakes level over this trip either side of a Carbine flop, defeating a highly touted Green Belt in the latest. Has a lovely turn-of-foot on firmer ground, having not won on worse than a Soft 6.
11. Party For One made our blackbook second-up then simply found a classy one last start, albeit it was another strong effort. Blinkers go on and she's a good price ($18.00 @
TopSport).
6. Loch Eagle had every chance third-up when most of Australia was on him. Will get more galloping room here though.
Race 8 - 3:30PM Pioneer Services Hawkesbury Crown Tips (1300m)
Selections: 10,7,15,12.
The J-Mac booking suggests 10. BROOKSPIRE is ready to fire, a half-sister to Group 1 winner Inspirational Girl and a mare that's still aiming for her first stakes win. She does come to handy early as a fresh winner on a Heavy 8 last winter and without luck at Rosehill, was excellent via her spring return. This looks a first-up target from Waller.
7. Cliff's Art is a listed winning import that was brave first-up at Randwick after enduring a wide run and she had been trialling well in the lead-up. Draws much kinder here second-up and is decent each-way odds ($21.00 @
Neds).
15. Jump The Broom suffered her first defeat on April 16, where although a little plain on face value, the drop to 1100m was a knock. The extra furlong suits third-up.
It was hard for backmarkers over The Championships, which worked against 12. Never Talk. She was flying prior to that.
Race 9 - 4:10PM Richmond Club Hawkesbury Gold Cup Tips (1600m)
Selections: 11,13,10,5.
11. ART CADEAU was impossible to miss second-up behind Our Playboy, who had been competitive in strong company prior to that and that followed a strong return when in the inferior ground at Newcastle. Is well placed third-up and he has an excellent association with Tommy Berry, who has been aboard for his last five victories. Wide gate the knock.
13. The Frontman was a pass mark in his debut for Waller before a heavy second-up defeat. With no real speed engaged, he should get a soft run under Avdulla.
10. Atishu has refused to jump this campaign and has been back trialling as a result. Her early spring form reads well for this.
It's been tough making ground at Randwick, so 5. Brutality has had excuses recently. This is about his level.
Race 10 - 4:45PM Voir Grand Classic BM78 Handicap Tips (1300m)
Selections: 3,8,7,5.
While this isn't a weak BM78 by any means, with a picket fence and aiming for a sixth win from as many starts, 3. NORWEGIAN BLISS does look the one to beat, especially with a favourable racing pattern. This mare did enough to keep the record intact first-up, where clearly 1100m was a little short and she now contests a suitable 1300m.
A big market watch will be on
8. Sibaaq, an Annabel Neasham-trained import that's moved beautifully in two April trials at Warwick Farm. This four-year-old is a double figure quote ($11.00 @
PlayUp) for his first Australian start.
7. Sumoot was a stylish Australian debut winner and then started second fav in a Group 3 as result, where she was forced to circle the field. Gate one is sticky.
5. Luvoir was scratched last week with a wide gate and maps kinder for this assignment. Include as a bolter ($34.00 @
Palmerbet) for exotics.
