Happy Valley Next Best Bet - Race 3 No. 4 Club Ace

He's been competitive in all four Hong Kong runs to date, which includes placings in both Happy Valley attempts and Club Ace remains at six furlongs for Wednesday's tilt.

There was plenty of merit to his Sha Tin performance on January 31, where the son of Toronado was engaged in an early speed battle and the two other leaders dropped right out.

Club Ace progressed for a third-place finish over this track/trip last start and he once again stuck on against the race shape, with first, second and fourth all coming from off the speed.

After riding nine winners in February, Brenton Avdulla has continued his form into March, with four winners at a strike rate of 31% and two of those have been for the John Size yard.

Peng Chau Handicap Tips (Race 4)

Happy Valley Roughie - Race 4 No. 7 Nebraskan

Multiple winners have been produced from his first seven events in Hong Kong and Nebraskan was thereabouts in four of those races, with a pair of Sha Tin placings being the highlights.

Although his form fell away after those placings, there were some excuses on December 29 and he then became unbalanced after being checked at the 600m of his January 12 outing.

Blinkers go back on Nebraskan after his February 19 attempt over this track/trip, where he wasn't able to cross early and he did wear blinkers when going two-from-two in Australia.

He was strong past the line in a March 7 trial over 1000m and while the gelding has drawn out here, he's likely to be ridden with intent under Alexis Badel and look for the early lead.

Happy Valley Best Bet - Race 7 No. 6 King Of Fighters

This Tony Cruz-trained galloper is building towards a Hong Kong breakthrough, with King Of Fighters looking to go one better following a runner-up finish over this track/trip last start.

That form should up, as Beauty Destiny (winner) is airborne at present, while Beauty Infinity and Sports Legend also contested that event (both finished second at their next starts).

After working early on the speed second-up over 1400m, King Of Fighters was back in trip via that February 19 race and he should've finished closer via his Hong Kong debut in January.

The four-year-old had Group 1 form around his only prep in Australia, with placings recorded behind Southport Tycoon (dual Group 1 winner) and Griff (2023 Caulfield Guineas winner).

Happy Valley Value Bet - Race 9 No. 12 Winning Steps

The only flat effort this campaign was a seventh-of-nine finish when attempting a 2200m Class 3 at Happy Valley and that winner (Noisy Boy) took out a Class 2 event at his next appearance.

1600m-2000m looks the right range for Winning Steps, who won a similar event on November 6 in what his second attempt in this grade and he's clearly in career best form this season.

The son of Pierro saluted with 52.5kg in that November triumph, while he carries 52kg this evening and he had the same impost via his latest assignment over this track/trip.

In a fast-run affair, Winning Steps was exposed early from the rear just get into that February 19 contest, so he was entitled to tire late and was he far from disgraced via a midfield finish.
