Price Handicap Tips (Race 2)
Happy Valley Nest Best Bet - Race 2 No. 1 Methane
Receiving a 2.5kg penalty following a narrow defeat on March 3, that has been offset by the engagement of 3kg claiming apprentice Jerry Chau giving this gelding a very manageable impost of 57.5kg in what isn't a deep Class 4.
The son of Pierro has been competing well without winning this whole season and was only a stride off breaking his winning drought last start, missing behind the in-form Dynamic Eagle who has won three of his last four outings.
Facing mostly out of form and limited opposition, Methane does have some tactical versality which gives them options early and with even luck, he looks to have found a very winnable race.
Moorsom Handicap Tips (Race 6)
Happy Valley Value Bet - Race 6 No. 1 Mr Lumieres
He has drawn poorly, hence the price, but double figure prices aren't common for gallopers dropping in grade following competitive efforts at Class 3 level with this being his first attempt in a Class 4.
A dominant Class 2 winner back in 2019, there's no doubting Mr Lumieres has his fair share of ability when right and his last two attempts have included a midfield finish March 17 before backing up a week later, rattling home from off the speed to just miss third on the line.
Blake Shinn now takes the reins on the seven-year-old and having combined with trainer David Hall for five winners over the last 12 months, it is a stable that he has tasted success with.
Perkins Handicap Tips (Race 7)
Happy Valley Value Bet - Race 7 No. 8 Mudita
Despite only having the one win from 21 starts to date, Glorious Lover has opened up as a short priced favourite in the seventh from Happy Valley, which allows some each-way value with other contenders.
One of those rivals is this gelding from the in-form Paul O'Sullivan stable (prepared nine winners since February) who has been very honest in four Hong Kong outings, with the highlight being a second to Classic Posh on February 2, a galloper that has since been competitve at Class 3 level.
While he has been thereabouts in two subsequent performances, the lightly raced Mudita has seemingly been looking for further which he gets this evening, stepping from 1400m to 1650m with Joao Moreira now in the saddle.
Henderson Handicap Tips (Race 9)
Happy Valley Best Bet - Race 9 No. 5 Helene Wisdom Star
Trainer Tony Cruz and champion jockey Zac Purton strike at 20% when combining over the last 12 months and they get a good chance to build further on that via the last at Happy Valley with this four-year-old who is still looking for his first Hong Kong victory.
Following an eye catching third on December 9 in a stronger Class 3 to what he faces here, not much has gone the way of Helene Wisdom Star since then, where he's mainly been plagued by wide gates although he's still been thereabouts in all runs.
While barrier seven isn't exactly perfect, it is a big improvement on the recent gates he's come up with and it should allow Purton to find some cover then launch late off what looks a good speed up front in this event.
