Although he was well held, Pure Deal lost no admirers first-up off an 11-month break when finishing second to Elementry, an in-form winner who had a fitness edge.

The main knock is that Swanny Dee stays at 1200m second-up, however, a testing six furlongs may suit if the rain arrives and this looks a very weak assignment on paper.

Ultimately, she was outclassed via her first three performances last spring, where the filly was in stakes grade and she was then spelled after an even Sandown effort.
Rose Of Shalaa bounced back to winning form first-up this campaign when recording a comfortable Ballarat victory and she has had excuses via her two subsequent misses.
She received an early bump second-up, where the three-year-old tired late after being hunted up, while nothing went right last start (lame, covered ground and mucus detected).
