Hamilton Tips for June 1
Finchetts Maiden Hurdle Tips (Race 2)
Hamilton Best Bet - Race 2 No. 6 Holburt
This gelding has been a little costly over the jumps, but this is one he should be ticking off with the race fitness and wet track in his favour.
Holburt went under last start to Dodge City who showed a huge turn-of-foot that we hadn’t seen before.
Other than that winner, he beat the rest home and on to heavy ground, should be able to grind this lot into the ground back to the 3200m from the 3480m.
The price is no steal, but I do feel he will only shorten from here and the price we can get now is much better than what we will be getting at the jump.
bet365 Maiden Hurdle Tips (Race 3)
Hamilton Next Best Bet - Race 3 No. 6 Karakoram
This six-year-old is back over the jumps for the first time since 2019, and although not a perennial winner with just two wins from 49 goes, he was always consistent with nine second and third placings next to his name.
His last two starts have been very good, finishing second two starts back over 2440m and less than a length from a handy 64 field last start at Cranbourne.
Karakoram loves the sting out and fresh at the hurdles, his flat ability is going to take him a long way against rivals who have been jumping this prep and will be very dour.
If the son of High Chaparral can bring last start's flat effort to this race, I am confident that he is the horse to beat.
Hygain BM64 Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Hamilton Value Bet - Race 8 No. 2 Desert Dreamer
He is flyingby all reports this prep and although this trip is likely going to prove a little short, his form suggests that he is at least a mid-week metro class horse.
Desert Dreamer loves the sting out of the ground which he is going to get, having won all three of his races in soft conditions and having placed in the heavy ground before.
The four-year-old was good recently in a Cranbourne jumpout where he closed off well late, and was a first-up winner last time in so it looks as if he is fit and ready to go.
In the heavy conditions, this will feel longer than the 1200m journey which should suit him just fine, so confident that he can find himself into the top three at least.
