Local trainer Danny Williams has a talented horse on his hands here and while Highway Strip is still learning the caper, he can work through the lower grades for now.
He was unlucky in a Moruya Super Maiden on debut, where a lack of racing experience was also evident and the three-year-old was spelled after that April 26 run.
The gelding landed good bets first-up at Goulburn, where he did some early work and that August 25 event rated okay for the class (runner-up also won last week).

On the clock, her debut performance was much better than it reads and following a spell, Candi Lass made late inroads via a fourth-of-twelve finish at Moruya.
Along with recording the fastest closing splits of that August 30 maiden, the daughter of Denman ran the second-quickest last 400m and 200m of the meeting.
I was looking for a gear change to sharpen her up, as she was laying in at key stages in that recent return and winkers going on second-up should be a big help.
Jewell Builders Maiden Plate Tips (Race 7)
Goulburn Roughie - Race 7 No. 1 All Gucci
Nothing was expected of All Gucci on debut at Hawkesbury, where the four-year-old drifted out late in the market to start as a 60/1 chance in a 1300m maiden.
That first race day outing was a pass mark, with the gelding covering ground throughout that August 13 contest and the form through that race is holding up fairly well.
He'll improve from this and prosper over further, however, the extra 100m and barrier one are both ticks, while this is easier than the provincial event he's coming from.
Campbell Petroleum Distributors BM58 Tips (Race 8)
Goulburn Next Best Bet - Race 8 No. 6 Shisuta Bo
This Richard Litt-trained galloper is one of the few in this BM58 with upside and now third-up where she's back in grade from a provincial BM64, she's well placed.
Shisuta Bo gets the blinkers applied after an honest last start effort at Newcastle, where she stuck on as the pick of the on-speed runners in what was a swoopers race.
She was nearly four weeks between runs after a fresh flop as a $6 chance (slow recovery) and with some improvement predicted, she can bring up win two on Friday.
