Gold Coast Tips for March 13
Martin Collins Handicap Tips (Race 3)
Gold Coast Best Bet - Race 3 No. 1 Sugar Boom
Sugar Boom is a super speedy mare that relishes these short course distances, as she proved last start when winning on soft ground by nearly three lengths over track and trip.
Her record speaks for itself, with seven wins and four minors from 15 goes, having won three times from four starts last prep.
She is just incredibly consistent and does handle a bit of sting out of the ground, so as long as the ground is not bottomless, her winning ways should continue.
Tab Military Rose Plate Tips (Race 7)
Gold Coast Next Best Bet - Race 7 No. 4 Jadentom
This seven-year-old is a flying machine fresh having won five of her seven fresh starts and placing second on another occasion.
She won the Weetwood fresh at Toowoomba last prep at big odds defeating Red Chase, beating that galloper again second-up at Doomben along with a Magic Millions race day winner The Odyssey.
Gold Coast has not been her favourite track over the years with just the one win from three starts, but likely to see a wet track and coming in fresh sits well in her favour ahead of this event.
Canadian Club Benchmark 85 Handicap Tips (Race 9)
Gold Coast Value Bet - Race 9 No. 11 Xanthus
This gelding was good when winning two starts back at Doomben with a big weight on soft ground, before struggling last start up in class.
The key for him here could be the wet track which he won well on at Doomben, and possibly coming to the Gold Coast where he has also recorded a win.
Xanthus draws soft and will find a lovely position from the gate somewhere on the speed, so is a value chance and worthy of another crack at this grade.
