This mare has had her chances since joining the Jessica Bain stable, with five seconds from eight starts at Geraldton, but she's still knocking on the door and this is a thin maiden.

There has been depth to some of the races that she's placed in, including the last two that have been contested following a freshen-up and Liberty Dame has drawn out in those.

From barrier four, there should be an opportunity to settle in the first few pairs early and with the rise in trip in her favour on Wednesday, this is her best chance of breaking through.

Geraldton Favourite - Race 3 No. 4 Identifier

Although she didn't do a great deal on the clock when getting the maiden out of the way on Geraldton debut, jockey Troy Turner looked after her late in that March 1 performance.

A galloper who was competitive multiple times via some handy metro maidens last campaign, Identifier can work through lower grades in an easier jurisdiction.

The four-year-old started as a $1.70 fav via that most recent resumption and with the rise in distance being no negative here second-up, she can go on with it at Class 1 level.

Geraldton Next Best Bet - Race 6 No. 6 Sorais

The son of Safeguard is ticking over nicely in two runs this campaign and now suited to 1213m third-up, he gets his chance to turn the tables on Tycoon Demon this Wednesday.

Not only does he meet the fav 1.5kg better off at the weights from their March 17 clash, but Sorais can now land closer from gate two, whereas the market elect draws out.

He's a galloper that's improving with racing, having won two of his last three runs in 2023 (both over this trip) and he has built up a decent rapport with jockey Natasha Faithfull.

Sunday April 7th Geraldton Gold Cup Tips (Race 7)

Geraldton Value Bet - Race 7 No. 7 Egg White

His overall strike rate is poor hence the double figure quote fourth-up, however, Egg White hasn't done much wrong in three starts this campaign and the rise in trip suits here.

Following two decent outings over a mile, the gelding stepped to 1900m last time and in a race that favoured the on-speed brigade, he performed best of the chasers.

Both career wins have come around this 2100m range and against similar opposition to what he's been facing via his last two appearances, Egg White has each-way claims.
