Geelong Value Bet - Race 1 No. 1 Brazen Bully
I own a small share in this horse, but I know he is going very well and is a fit horse going into his first-up assignment in a race where there looks to be a bit of speed in front.
He is a natural get back and attack the line horse, as we saw at Moe when very green and quite unlucky not to finish a clear second in that event.
He has since been gelded and has jumped out well behind Zesty Belle and Platini, two city performed gallopers, the latter he has beaten under race conditions at Moe.
There looks to be a little bit of rain forecast over the next 24 hours, which will not phase him having placed on a heavy track on debut.
He will hit the line late and hopefully can get his head in front on the line.
Thompson Creek Thoroughbreds Maiden Plate Tips (Race 2)
Geelong Next Best Bet - Race 2 No. 4 Duke Of Neworleans
The three-year-old son of Hallowed Crown has jumped out impressively for the flying Matt Laurie stable, and was accepted to race last week, but had a poor barrier to contend with.
Now finding himself in a big field, he has drawn perfectly in gate four, showing plenty of gate speed which we are expecting once again in this event.
He is one of a few three-year-olds in the field, taking on the older opposition which could be a sign of his ability and maturity, which is a positive lead as to what the stable think his chances may be.
Ethan Brown has been riding in good form, so from a good gate and on a horse who is clearly above maiden level from what we have seen on the trial, he should have a pretty comfortable ride out in front.
