Gawler Carnival of Cups – Oct 15-24 Maiden Plate Tips (Race 3)
Gawler Value Bet - Race 3 No. 8 Ruppapumpum
Had her starting price first-up at Murray Bridge been in the 50/1 range as it is here and not 200/1, I'm confident that she's a $10-$15 chance second-up on Wednesday following that really big fresh effort over the mile on July 14.
Ruppapumpum was hard to miss in that return outing, making of a meal of the start which put her straight on the back foot early, but she quickly made amends, getting to the outside late and rattling home for fifth, a very good effort under the circumstances.
She got the better of Em Bryan in the run home, a galloper that broke his Maiden at his very next start and despite not coming up at all in her second campaign, this mare did show some potential over three runs in her first racing preparation.

Gawler Next Best Bet - Race 5 No. 7 Fight For Freedom
The market is correct, having Call Me Dexter as the favourite, a galloper that is very well placed back in grade and trip, however, he has been up a very long time whereas there should still be some improvement to come with this gelding.
After catching the eye late at Murray Bridge first-up, Fight For Freedom was sent out as favourite in a 1200m event at Gawler on July 2, which was perhaps a little surprising given he has no form at that distance and always takes a few runs to hit his straps.
Stepping up to a more suitable 1400m third-up at Murray Bridge, the six-year-old stuck on well considering he was three-wide the trip in a Saturday 64 and now with that seven-furlong effort under the belt, he drops to a Provincial 56 in pursuit of career win number five.

Gawler Best Bet - Race 6 No. 2 Morty
Trainer/jockey Shayne Cahill prepares and rides Morty. a gelding that recorded a soft kill when resuming at Bordertown back in January before contesting much stronger races as that second racing preparation wore on.
Aimed at three-year-old features over the carnival, he recorded three consecutive placings following that fresh victory which included a narrow miss behind the multiple Stakes-placed Casino Seventeen, with a runner-up to dual Stakes winner Royal Mile following that.
Morty did look well placed on resumption at Balaklava where he was strong late for third and while plain on August 7, I'm always willing to forgive runners buried on the inside at Murray Bridge, which can a real momentum circuit and third-up, he plummets in grade here.
