Flemington Tips for January 29
Firstly Home Sprint Tips (Race 2)
Flemington Best Bet - Race 2 No. 11 Dana Point
This filly was incredibly brave down the straight last start, sitting on the inside fence solo, around 10 horses off her closest rival and towards the middle/outside part of the track.
She now has the straight track experience and draws a middle gate which can see her dicate with a field around her.
Dana Point was only just denied by a subseqient winner three starts back before breaking the Maiden in a deadheat with another handy horse of John Sadler's.
Coming back in trip to the five furlongs is a tick on my books with her early speed, so she is going to take some catching.
Eynesbury Estate Sprint Tips (Race 5)
Flemington Value Bet - Race 5 No. 12 Zion
Quite surprised about the quote that this galloper has opened up considering how good he was two back and then pulled-up with cardiac arrhythmia after the January 2 effort.
Two starts back, he was a good thing beaten when drawn toward the inside and hooking off the back of the front runners heels to just miss behind the unbeaten Written Miss.
That is very strong form and it resulted in him starting as a $4.20 chance last start behind a horse is nearly favourite for a Stakes race on Saturday and Zion had genuine excuses.
The son of Rubick gets the advantage of a wide draw and with Jye McNeil in the saddle, look for him to be launching late.
PSP Property Group Sprint Tips (Race 6)
Flemington Next Best Bet - Race 6 No. 11 Japery
I feel this runner may be underrated in this race purely because of the form from around the favourite Alburq, but he struggles to win, so happy to be taking Japery at $5.
He was dynamic last start in 78 class down the straight, bolting in by four lengths in what was a powerful turn of speed.
The three-year-old was ridden further forward that day and that may have done the trick over the short trip.
He now has to rise another 100m, but based off the last start effort, there's plenty of scope with Japery who can progress further.

Japery is a nice horse going forward and demolished a handy field down the straight last start.
Zion has excuses last start but his prior form is right up to this grade.
