Friday's set-up allows Alma Rise to turn the tables on Smokin' Princess (fav) from their Matron Stakes clash last month, where the four-year-old was first-up at 1600m vs that hard-fit rival.
Alma Rise was held-up late in that Group 3, which was contested over the pet trip (1600m) for Smokin' Princess and the market elect now gets to 2100m (hasn't won in six tries at 2000m+)
The daughter of Almanzor can be forgiven for her last start defeat at Ballarat, where she was held-up until the 100m and Alma Rise was a big third-up winner on VRC Oaks Day last spring.

His Newmarket effort was out of the character, where the five-year-old never settled on the speed and there were excuses for his last start performance on a shifty Moonee Valley circuit.
All of his form has come on good tracks and on a Soft 6 for the Group 1 William Reid Stakes, Rey Magnerio pulled a shoe after the start when back vs the on-speed pattern of the day.
Prior to the last two attempts, his only time finishing out of the top four was in last year's Oakleigh Plate and the consistent sprinter will have a strong early speed to aim at here.

Echuca Value Bet - Race 8 No. 14 Marilyn's Edge
There was clearly an opinion of Marilyn's Edge, as the filly contested two black-type events in spring following a dominant debut win and her March 3 trial win at Cranbourne was slick.
Although she failed in her March 12 return, the three-year-old was heavily backed in a strong BM64, with second, third and fifth in that midweek contest all winning their next starts.
Mckeyla (winner) was brave following that when third in a Group 3 after covering ground, while the second-up performance from Marilyn's Edge suggests that she's back on track.
