Happy 70th Birthday Neil Flack Maiden Plate Tips (Race 2)
Echuca Value Bet - Race 2 No. 10 Tha Maestro
The mare demonstrated ability in three starts on Ballarat’s synthetic surface in her first prep racing and she resumed with a sixth over 1400m at Wangaratta last month.
The daughter of Inference was beaten just over four lengths when jumping at $51 for a maiden held on a soft 5 track that day.
Improvement followed stepped up to 1600m with the five-year-old finishing runner-up in a maiden held on a heavy 8 surface at Seymour just over two weeks ago.
The pick caught the eye in finishing well from off the pace in both of those starts including when beaten less than a length last time.
The front two finished over three lengths clear of the third in that Seymour contest with the selection having jumped from a wide alley that day.
Trained by Rhys Archard the mare will again jump from a wide alley here and his representative looks value to break her maiden in this contest.

Echuca Next Best Bet - Race 3 No. 3 Exabanoise
The son of Niconoise is lightly-raced for a six-year-old with just two starts to his name including when debuting with a third over 1400m at Casterton in September last year.
The pick was beaten less than a length when jumping at triple-figure odds for that contest and he was spelled following that effort.
The gelding trialled once in January but failed to race in 2024 until finishing third dropped to 1200m for a maiden contest at Seymour last month.
The selection raced on wet tracks for both of those contests including when racing on a heavy 8 surface at Seymour.
Chris Calthorpe’s gelding has been ridden from mid-division in both starts to date and similar tactics are expected here with a good barrier five from the rail.
Ryan Hurdle’s mount was slowly away on debut but had no such issues last time and he is selected to record his first win.
Moama Bowling Club Handicap Tips (Race 5)
Echuca Roughie - Race 5 No. 6 Connemara Queen
The five-year-old showed good form in South Australia in 2023 winning four times including at metro level on the Parks track at Morphettville in September.
The pick came home a length clear of her eleven rivals when contesting a Benchmark 64 handicap on a soft 5 track that day.
The mare followed that effort up with a below-par seventh of eight when racing over 1550m at the same venue two days later.
The daughter of Deep Field had earlier won by nearly nine lengths when racing over 1410m in a Benchmark 58 handicap at Mount Gambier at the end of August.
The selection took part in a couple of jumpouts last month and they should have put her spot on for her return to action.
Now in the care of Charmaine Barnes the mare is tactically versatile and dropping in distance and jumping from a wide alley she may prove up to surprising on her return to action.
Bet365 Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Echuca Best Bet - Race 8 No. 4 Ultimate Kiss
The son of Redente demonstrated plenty of ability in 2022 including when third in a 1400m Class 1 handicap at Sandown in December of that year.
The pick missed the whole of 2023 however but has been good form kept to wet tracks in three starts this time around.
The selection resumed with a three-length success in a 1200m Restricted 62 handicap at Seymour at the start of last month.
An impressive victory by nearly three-and-a-half-lengths stepped up to 1300m for a Bendigo Benchmark 64 handicap held on a soft 7 surface followed.
While the six-year-old was unable to complete a hat-trick when a length third at Sandown July 24 it’s of note that he was back racing at metro level that day.
Barrier twelve will also have been against the gelding at Sandown and with an inside alley and dropping back to country-level racing he is taken to return to winning ways.
