Sky Racing QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate Tips (Race 3)
Doomben Value Bet - Race 3 No. 5 Find Me
The Irish-bred gelding had just one barrier trial prior to making his racecourse debut earlier this month.
That barrier trial saw the pick finish runner-up in a 1050m contest held on a wet track at Deagon last month.
The Tony Gollan-trained gelding’s debut effort saw him race from the front prior to fading in the closing stages when fourth over 1100m at this venue earlier this month.
While the pick could finish only fourth that day he showed that he handles heavy conditions in losing out by just under one-and-a-half-lengths on a track rated a heavy 9.
The selection is expected to have improved for that effort with the booking of Angela Jones a positive in this event.
The son of Camelot is bred to appreciate further in time and he looks value to reverse form with third home here last time Headstrong to break his maiden at the second attempt.

Doomben Next Best Bet - Race 5 No. 6 Waverley
The No Nay Never gelding is a proven wet track performer having won once and placed third once from three starts on heavy going.
The four-year-old ended his time with his previous trainer finishing in mid-division in the 2200m Queensland Magic Millions Subzero over 2200m at Gold Coast in January.
Given a short break following that effort he debuted for the Glenn Thornton stable with a good second over 1400m in a benchmark 60 handicap at Beaudesert last month.
The gelding had a couple of subsequent winners behind him that day and while he raced on a good 4 track at both Gold Coast and Beaudesert the switch to a heavy surface saw him win last time out.
The pick raced on a heavy 9 track when contesting a Benchmark 65 handicap over 1640m on that occasion coming home a length clear of his five rivals.
The step up in distance is no issue here and with underfoot conditions to suit he looks capable of completing a double.

Doomben Best Bet - Race 8 No. 8 Autumngirl
The daughter of The Autumn Sun demonstrated ability when debuting with a good second place finish at this track in July last year.
The youngster was beaten just a length when racing on a good 4 track that day staying on nicely having been ridden from off the pace that day.
Kelly Schweida’s representative was spelled subsequently and took a step forward to break through for her first win when racing over the same distance at Ipswich in December.
Notably the pick raced on a heavy 8 surface on that occasion coming home over two lengths in advance of her rivals having jumped a short-priced favourite.
While the selection could finish only sixth stepped up to 1350m on a good 4 surface here subsequently she showed signs of heat stress that day and can be forgiven that effort.
Cejay Graham’s mount placed third in a barrier trial here recently and looks capable of doubling her career tally returning to a heavy track.

Doomben Roughie - Race 9 No. 5 Kerchak
Ben Ahrens’ representative registered three wins last prep including when taking out an open handicap contest over 2030m at this venue at the end of November.
The gelding raced on the pace having jumped from a wide barrier that day having taken out the 1600m Mooloolaba Cup at Sunshine Coast on his previous outing.
Both of those victories came on heavy going with the pick having won twice and placed second once from his four starts on heavy tracks.
While the selection failed to score in his final two starts last prep he acquitted himself well when fifth over 1800m in a Benchmark 88 handicap at Randwick on his penultimate outing.
While a wide barrier isn’t ideal here the New Zealand-bred gelding is unbeaten in two starts over this distance and has gone well at big odds when racing first up in the past.
Jag Guthmann-Chester is set to partner the son of Tarzino for the first time this season and the pair may prove up to surprising.
