Best Bet:
Race 6 No. 3 Rogan
On a very tough meeting for a standout, Rogan is a good each-way contender, with the three-year-old getting up to 2000m following a breakthrough win over a mile at Kilmore.
The depth of that April 5 field is questionable, but he was pulling away from the runner-up and there were big margins behind the first two (more than four lengths to third).
That Kilmore maiden also rated well for the class and program, while being only third-up here in just his second campaign, there's still upside with the Cliff Brown-trained galloper.
A half-brother and stablemate to Von Hauke (Group 3 winner), Rogan has always shown some potential and he wouldn't need to be a world beater to measure up in this.
Value Bet:
Race 8 No. 12 Aria Electra
There were some excuses last time out as a beaten fav at Pakenham, where Aria Electra was held-up at key stages and she was narrowly beaten prior to that in weaker company.
With the six-year-old being competitive in three of four outings this time in, she's clearly come up better this campaign after struggling in four appearances over winter last year.
Don't let the BM58 references over summer/early autumn fool you, as Aria Electra has been metro placed on four occasions and she has beaten a handy Little Jack in this grade.
While there's some knocks with most of her better fancied opposition in this field, Aria Electra is now at peak fitness and she has a decent overall record on good ground.
Market Mover:
Race 5 No. 2 Bold Response
While he's been mixing his form this prep, Bold Response won over this trip and grade only two starts back, and he was five weeks between runs in a stronger race last time.
After opening up on the second line of betting ($3.10), Bold Response is now a $2.40 fav with Betr
Stats Say:
From 40 starters at Cranbourne this season, the Moody & Coleman yard have prepared 10 winners and seven placegetters.
After the scratching of Sea Me Dance, they're left with four runners on Friday's program.
