Cranbourne Tips April 19
Grand Ridge Arenas Maiden Plate Tips (Race 3)
Cranbourne Next Best Bet - Race 3 No. 7 Think Rock
Ideally, he'd be stepping up a little more ground now third-up, however, this 1000m maiden lacks depth and Think Rock was honest last Friday behind an impressive debut winner.
He was right in the market as a well respected second fav in that most recent attempt and with the back-up a positive, the gelding is the same price despite finding a weaker race.
The son of Jukebox returned with strong effort off a 14 month absence last month at Pakenham and he was six weeks between runs second-up, so there's improvement to come.
Settlers Run Class 1 Handicap Tips (Race 5)
Cranbourne Best Bet - Race 5 No. 3 Licensed
There's depth to this Class 1 and while it should prove to be a decent form race going forward, Licensed is a deserving fav, a gelding who was spelled after big debut victory here.
The three-year-old recorded a seven length romp via that 1200m maiden on September 21 and connections have given him more time to furnish ahead of his second prep.
Licensed has completed two jump-outs ahead of this resumption (won the latest in nice style) and from barrier two under Michael Dee, he should find the front in this small field.
Happy Retirement Imperatriz Maiden Plate Tips (Race 6)
Cranbourne Roughie - Race 6 No. 7 Hello Hava
It's an average maiden from what we've seen of the raced brigade and while a resuming Hypeman has the best exposed form, he was clicked up to respond in his lead-up work.
The pick of the first starters is Hello Hava, a filly who is bred to get over more ground, however 1300m is a nice starting point here and barrier six gives them options early.
With zero intent, the daughter of Kermadec was doing her best work late in a 600m heat at Mornington on March 27 and she then made ground under her own steam at Balnarring.
Ladbrokes Odds Surge BM58 Handicap Tips (Race 9)
Cranbourne Value Bet - Race 9 No. 8 Savee
She was workmanlike over her second campaign, however, the filly was consistent in three outings before failing up the straight in a metro BM78 and she was spelled after that.
Savee should find this much easier, resuming in a country BM58 and she opened up a margin via strong hit-out at Geelong on April 4, so the three-year-old looks forward enough.
The Danny O'Brien-trained galloper placed in two strong maidens (one over this trip) before breaking through on January 3, while she can settle in the first few pairs from gate two.
