Ranvet Handicap Tips (Race 2)
Canterbury Next Best Bet - Race 2 No. 6 Straight Sets
The third foal out of Sabatini (three-time Group winner), Straight Sets has shown versatility in two trial wins ahead of Wednesday's debut assignment.
After leading throughout via an 818m heat at Warwick Farm, the Archibald-trained filly picked up sharply from back in the field when winning her latest over 1030m.
Straight Sets is against her own sex for this 1250m attempt, which looks a suitable starting point and Zac Lloyd has been aboard in both lead-up trials.
Ole Kirk @ Vinery Stud Handicap Tips (Race 5)
Canterbury Roughie - Race 5 No. 10 Natural Deduction
He was resuming off a long break at Warwick Farm on May 7 and despite racing keenly, Natural Deduction found the line nicely in that 1600m performance.
There were excuses second-up on May 28, where the four-year-old covered ground over this track/trip and as a result, he was well beaten on a Heavy 8.
The gelding was an impressive second-up winner last campaign and then when in the market for a similar race to this, he bled from both nostrils.
Vinnie Three-time Champion Sire Handicap Tips (Race 6)
Canterbury Best Bet - Race 6 No. 10 Harry's Bar
She was respected in the market first-up following a trial win over Golden Mile and Harry's Bar delivered a respectable third-place finish in that return.
The Paul Murray-trained mare had a clear margin on fourth via that fresh event at Rosehill and the form around that race reads quite well, especially through the quinella.
Lady Extreme (winner) had decent prior form, which includes seconds to Shoihisha (subsequent BM78 winner) and Zoubaby (stakes-placed), while Let's Go Again (second) was narrowly beaten last Saturday.
Traffic Warden @ Darley Handicap Tips (Race 7)
Canterbury Value Bet - Race 7 No. 11 Pardon My French
There's still upside with this Ciaron Maher-trained galloper, who is now fourth-up in her second prep and a senior hoop going for this Sydney tilt is a positive.
She was set a big task last time out at Sale, which was a better run than it reads and Pardon My French can settle closer here from a kinder draw.
Her two victories last winter were both on soft tracks and she then finished midfield with a big weight via a strong BM64 (runner-up in that race was Treasurethe Moment).
