A combination of heavy ground and lack of fitness attributed to a somewhat plain run fresh, although Trunk still managed to place and he's suited back to maiden company.
Barrier one at Canterbury is another big tick for the full brother to Splintex (three-time Group 2 winner), as he should find the rails and the lead, which is generally the place to be here.
He showed promise on debut when leading at good clip before a handy Stay Focused pounced and with a run under his belt, along with a return to firmer ground, this sets up well.

Canterbury Best Bet - Race 4 No. 11 Lady Extreme
We were this filly when she recorded an impressive debut triumph at Gosford last December and she was unlucky following that, as she covered ground via a narrow loss as a short fav.
Despite being well held on return, Lady Extreme still ran the fastest last 200m of a 1000m Class 1 at Kembla Grange before stepping up to 1100m when second-up at Hawkesbury.
Lady Extreme was luckless in that second-up attempt, as she was held-up at key stages before rattling home when clear inside the last 100m and 1250m is worth a try third-up.
Quayclean Handicap Tips (Race 5)
Canterbury Value Bet - Race 5 No. 1 Taraashoq
He was too bad to be true last start following a decent fresh run in a Saturday BM78 and Taraashoq has been back to the trials since that failure over this track/trip on July 3.
While he's performed well a few times on heavy ground, the Bjorn Baker-trained galloper is far more effective on firmer ground and his last two wins have come at Canterbury.
The last of those victories was fourth-up over this track/trip in January, where overcame trouble to score and with the 2kg claim here, he carries a similar impost on Wednesday.
Dundeel At Arrowfield Handicap Tips (Race 7)
Canterbury Favourite - Race 7 No. 11 Fun Sunday
This four-year-old should be picking off a few over winter, with her low rating allowing to be placed easily and she's in on the 54kg minimum third-up for what's a winnable race.
Fun Sunday completed her best ever lead-up trial before a 1500m fresh attempt at Kembla Grange on June 20 and she kept finding the line there despite covering ground throughout.
She got home strongly second-up at Warwick Farm, with the mare recording the fastest last 600m and 400m of that July 10 event, while 1900m is a tick at this stage of the prep.
