James Squire Plate Tips (Race 3)
Canterbury Best Bet - Race 3 No. 7 Summer Loving
This Waterhouse & Bott-trained filly looks well prepped for Wednesday's return following two lead-up trials, which includes a 1050m heat win via her latest hit-out at Randwick.
Her only try at maiden level was first-up last August when making ground behind all-the-way winner Coincide, a stablemate who won her next outing via a metro BM64.
Summer Loving didn't see out a mile in the Flight Stakes, however, her performances at Group level prior to that were sound, as were her early two-year-old efforts in strong company.
Schweppes Handicap Tips (Race 5)
Canterbury Next Best Bet - Race 5 No. 1 Loco
The son of So You Think did enough when resuming over 1600m at Sandown on May 15, where the gelding was first-up off nearly a 13-month lay-off and that fresh form has stood up.
Loco was simply a run short when staying at 1600m second-up at Warwick Farm, however, it was an encouraging effort, with Loco getting warm late (fastest last 200m of the race).
Prior to going on a South Australian Derby path in his first prep, Loco just missed behind Gringotts (won three of his last four, including a Listed race) when third-up at Sandown.
TAB Handicap Tips (Race 6)
Canterbury Value Bet - Race 6 No. 9 Valiancy
She was a touch disappointing second-up at Warwick Farm, however, with good lead-up work followed by a decent return in a Saturday BM78, Valiancy gets a chance to atone.
Ciaron Maher has opted for blinkers to sharpen the four-year-old up on Wednesday, with the mare also back in grade here and all of her form has come on rain affected tracks.
After working early from a wide draw, she stuck on quite well first-up at Hawkesbury, while her 2023 form through Who Dares, Legio Ten and Dollar Magic reads very well for this BM72.
