Best Bet:
Race 6 No. 8 Pocket Size
The four-year-old failed to shine at Pakenham on her return to action but has made up for that with four consecutive top two finishes since.
The first of those efforts saw the filly register a victory by nearly a length when contesting a 1000m Benchmark 58 handicap at Pakenham in early March.
The daughter of Swear overcame a double figure barrier when successful on a sound surface that day and similar underfoot conditions are expected here.
The pick went on to deliver a narrow margin victory when jumping at $3 for a 1000m Benchmark 0-64 handicap at Ballarat later that month.
Apprentice Nadia Daniels, on board for both of those victories returns to the saddle having been absent for the selections second over 1000m at Caulfield Heath last month.
The selection boasts a good barrier here and looks up to recording the fourth victory of her career.
Value Bet:
Race 5 No. 3 Iluvcoffee
The son of Ilovethiscity takes the eye here having been in good form in finishing in the top three in each of his last three starts.
Those three starts include two wins with the first of those seeing the gelding see off ten rivals in a Benchmark 58 handicap over this track and trip.
A good third when contesting a Benchmark 64 handicap over this course and distance followed prior to returning to winning ways at Benalla last month.
The selection came home nearly two lengths clear of his nearest pursuer last time with the second and sixth boosting the form in winning subsequently.
The gelding is usually ridden cold and with that in mind, a slow start as happened at Benalla wouldn’t be an issue in this contest.
Logan Bates is again set to ride and his mount looks value to record back-to-back victories for the Lee & Shannon Hope team.
Market Mover:
Race 7 No. 2 Lovin’ Laughs
Michael Sell’s representative has been running well in defeat in the main this prep including when beaten just under three-and-a-half-lengths at Kyneton last month.
The eight-year-old won at this Benchmark 64 level when racing at Cranbourne in December with Jaylah Kennedy set to take one-and-a-half-kilograms off his back here.
After opening at $13, Lovin' Laughs is now $7.50 with Ladbrokes
Stats Say:
Jockey Jamie Mott can boast a 32% strike-rate (10/31) here this season and he has four interesting rides on the card with the pick of those looking to be Regal Tycoon in the finale.
Mott partnered the Written Tycoon filly to a first up success this prep when the pair triumphed over 1000m at Pakenham in February.
The three-year-old has placed three times since and while a beaten short price favourite at Seymour last time she looks to hold strong claims of making amends.
