Budget Bendigo Maiden Plate Tips (Race 1)
Bendigo Best Bet - Race 1 No. 7 Jenni The Tank
The New Zealand-bred filly has shown good form in two starts to date placing in maiden company on each occasion.
The first of those efforts saw her beaten four-and-a-half-lengths when third in a 1700m maiden at Warrnambool at the end of October.
The pick encountered a good 4 track that day and raced on similar going when finishing one place better stepped up to 2200m for a Donald maiden the follow month.
The daughter of Almanzor should have no issues with the extra 200m she is set to tackle here while the form of her debut effort is working out well.
Barrier nine shouldn’t pose any issues racing over this distance while she hails from a top yard in that of Ciaron Maher.
European hoop Saffie Osborne has impressed in her first few rides since joining the Maher team and she looks capable of recording in a win in the opener.

Bendigo Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 2 Eire To The Jungle
The son of Jungle Ruler showed ability in his first prep including when fifth of eight over 1108m when encountering a soft 5 track at Werribee on his second start.
The pick was spelled following that effort and he finished sixth in his first two outings this time around including when beaten less than one-and-a-half-lengths at Corowa first up.
That Corowa effort saw him race over 1100m on a soft 6 track, however he is proven on a sound surface as evidenced by his Ararat second last time out.
The selection was narrowly beaten when wearing blinkers for the first time when racing over 1300m at Ararat.
A change of tactics saw the four-year-old ridden cold at Ararat and he shapes as if the extra 200m he is set to tackle here will suit.
Lachlan King, on board last time out is again set to ride and his mount is taken to register a win jumping from barrier five.
Drake International Maiden Plate Tips (Race 5)
Bendigo Roughie - Race 5 No. 8 Nizhoni
The filly failed to shine when fifth over 1100m when debuting at Mortlake at the start of last month but has shown improvement in two starts since.
The pick was beaten over six lengths at Mortlake and took a marked step forward when a length second in a 1200m maiden at Warrnambool nine days.
The daughter of Sioux Nation encountered a sound surface for the first time when racing at Warnambool and went on to prove that was no fluke in taking second in a similar race subsequently.
Any softening of the current good 4 going with the gelding having performed well in being beaten less than a length on a heavy 9 last time.
The step up to 1300m here is expected to suit while barrier four is a positive having been forced to race wide form barrier eleven at Warrnambool last time out.
Jockey Jason Webb knows the filly well and the pair may prove up to upsetting some better fancied rivals.
Wilsons Tree Services 0-64 Handicap Tips (Race 6)
Bendigo Value Bet - Race 6 No. 1 Bunjil
The Patrick & Michelle Payne-trained gelding has shown a liking for this venue in the past finishing in the first two in five of his seven starts over this distance.
Those seven starts include three wins with the five-year-old building on a string of good second-place finishes when saluting over this distance in a Restricted 58 handicap at Echuca in September.
The selection came home over two lengths clear of his rivals when racing on a good 4 track that day and duly followed up when racing over the same distance at Swan Hill the following month.
While the gelding failed to shine when only fourth in a five-runner 1600m benchmark 64 handicap at Kilmore last time that effort did come on a heavy 9 track.
It is worth forgiving that Kilmore effort and while barrier eleven isn’t ideal he looks value to register his third win of the season.
