The filly recorded two wins last season including when taking out a 1300m Benchmark 46+ handicap held on a good 4 track at York in November.
The four-year-old was spelled following that effort and showed that she can compete at this venue when resuming with a second in a Class 3 handicap for fillies in March.
The selection raced over this track and trip that day and while well beaten when last at Ascot subsequently she ended that prep with a solid third over 1100m at Narrogin.
Frontrunning tactics were employed at Narrogin and she again raced from the front when resuming in a 1000m Class 3 handicap here August 28.
The daughter of A Lot delivered a victory by just under half-a-length when encountering a wet track for the first time that day.
The step up in distance shouldn’t pose too many issues here and jumping from barrier 3 she looks value to complete a double for the Luke Fernie stable.
Mrs Macs Handicap Tips (Race 5)
Belmont Next Best Bet - Race 5 No. 4 Deferred
The four-year-old started this prep with a run of three consecutive victories culminating in a triumph over 1400m on a soft 6 track here four weeks ago.
The filly stayed on nicely when coming home a length clear of her rivals that day with that contest producing a couple of subsequent winners at this venue.
While the daughter of Epaulette suffered a defeat when she could finish only third as an odds-on favourite here subsequently it’s of note that she began awkwardly on that occasion.
The pick lost out by just under a length that day with the fourth home Category Three, one of two runners to emerge from the race to date winning here a week ago.
The drop back to 1300m should prove no issue for the selection with her first two victories this prep both coming over 1200m.
Trainer Simon Miller saddled a double at this track a week ago and his representative looks capable of returning to winning ways.
Schweppes Handicap Tips (Race 7)
Belmont Best Bet - Race 7 No. 8 Toropa
A $230,000 purchase at the Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale in 2022 the filly made the perfect start to her career when debuting with a win over 1000m here in July last year.
The pick jumped at $21 when getting the better of seven rivals that day and while she saw action in a barrier trial in December 2023 she didn’t make her second start until June this year.
The filly resumed with a victory over the same track and trip and is making up for lost time with two subsequent victories at this venue.
Those subsequent successes, which both came over this track and trip have seen her take her unbeaten record to four with all four of those victories coming on wet tracks.
Vernon Brockman’s representative tracked the speed before winning by over half-a-length on a soft 7 track early last month with the fifth and eighth both winning subsequently.
Brad Parnham, on board for all three starts this prep is again set to ride and his mount is taken to maintain her unbeaten record.
Swan Draught – Farnley Stakes (Listed) Tips (Race 8)
Belmont Feature Bet - Race 8 No. 5 Triple Jay
The five-year-old arrives here in great form as the winner of five of his last six starts with four of those victories coming at this venue.
The gelding stepped up to 1650m for the first time when getting home by a narrow margin when contesting a Benchmark 8+ handicap last month.
A change of tactics saw the pick finish strongly having been ridden from off the pace when racing on a soft 7 track that day.
The son of Street Boss had previously saluted by a length over this course and distance in a similar race to that held on a soft 7 surface early last month.
Trained by Daniel & Ben Pearce the selection has a top jockey up with leading hoop William Pike set to ride here.
The selection has forecast underfoot conditions to suit and jumping from an inside alley he looks up to extending his winning run to five on his first start at this level.
