The gelding demonstrated a liking for testing conditions in 2023 including when winning on the forecast heavy 8 track in a course and distance event in June of that year.

The son of Shalaa followed up when winning by half-a-length on a soft 5 track just over thirteen months ago.

The pick has been lightly-raced since with just four starts in the last year however he returned with a victory when jumping at $21 over course and distance last month.

The six-year-old came from off the pace to deliver a victory by just under a length on that occasion with the front two finishing clear of the third.

Notably the second home that day Ginnivan has won over this track and trip in the interim while the third home Under Influence, who re-opposes here placed second here a week ago.

While a small field isn’t ideal here Mitchell Pateman’s representative boasts strong form and is selected to record his fourth track and trip win.

Belmont Best Bet - Race 5 No. 1 Russian Sniper

Top hoop William Pike has his usual strong book of rides and his mount here has shown good form for the Adam Durrant stable in recent months.

The pick is the winner of two of his last four starts with all four of those efforts coming at this venue.

The first of those victories came over this track and trip when racing on a soft 6 track in June and having finished third on his next two starts he returned to winning ways last time.

The five-year-old finished well to salute by two lengths in a 1000m contest held on a soft 7 surface that day.

The gelding had Ultimate Command (second) and Major Mario (sixth) who re-oppose here behind him that day with the sixth boosting the form with a win here on Wednesday.

The selection carries top weight in this event but has a good barrier and with the return to 1200m in his favour he looks up to completing a double.

Anne King’s gelding demonstrated good form in winning twice at Bunbury earlier this prep however he has taken his form to a new level in recent starts.

The selection made amends for a narrow defeat when runner-up in a 1000m Benchmark 66+ handicap when saluting over this track and trip in a similar race last month.

The seven-year-old jumped from next to the rail that day and went on to impress when scoring in the Listed H.G. Bolton Sprint over the same course and distance.

The son of Alfred Nobel came home over three lengths clear of his rivals that day with Patrick Carbery, on board that day again set to ride here.

The pick raced on soft tracks on each occasion and while he failed to shine on a heavy track here in July last year it’s of note that he raced over 1600m that day.

Barrier eight shouldn’t pose any issues given his tactical versatility and he looks up to recording his third consecutive win.

Morley Growers Market Handicap Tips (Race 9)

Trainer Adam Durrant saddled a winner here on Wednesday and his representative here returned from a spell with a fifth over 1000m here July 27.

The six-year-old was beaten just under four lengths when contesting a Benchmark 72+ handicap held on a soft 7 track that day.

That particular contest was dominated by those who raced close to the speed with the pick keeping on in behind over a distance short of her best.

Barrier nine shouldn’t pose any issues here given the daughter of Rogano is often ridden from off the pace while she has gone well on a heavy 8 surface in the past.

While the selection’s best form has come at Ascot she has shown winning form here in the past including over this course and distance.

Clint Johnston-Porter’s mount is expected to have improved for that debut effort and returning to 1200m she looks value to register her sixth career win.
