The four-year-old demonstrated good form over this distance earlier this campaign winning four times including in a track and trip event in September.

The filly went on to register wins in her next three starts culminating in a Listed success over 1200m in the Jungle Mist Classic at Ascot in November.

While the selection suffered defeats in her final two starts of 2023 she registered good efforts in Listed company in each of those efforts most recently when third in the 1600m Starstruck Classic in December.

Ross Price’s filly resumed with a one-and-a-half-length fourth over 1200m at Ascot in April and the extra distance here is in her favour following a second over the same distance here May 18.

The pick failed to shine in her only previous outing on a wet track however that effort did come when racing first up and she looks up to returning to winning ways from barrier seven.

Hayden Ballantyne’s mare demonstrated good form here in 2023 including when completing a hat-trick in taking out a 1000m Benchmark 72+ handicap in August.

The pick went on to lose out by a narrow margin over the same distance when contesting a Benchmark 66+ handicap the following month.

Both of those efforts came on wet tracks with the pick having won five of her nine starts on the forecast soft going.

The five-year-old was spelled following a last of ten over this course and distance on quicker going in September and she arrives here on the back of two barrier trials over 950m at Lark Hill.

Steven Parnham’s mount often races from the front and an inside barrier is a positive with regard to those tactics.

The selection has gone well fresh in the past having won twice and placed third twice from her five first up efforts and wearing a visor for the first time is value to return with a win.

Belmont Best Bet - Race 6 No. 5 Too Dardy

Six of the gelding’s seven starts have come at this venue with the selection winning four times since debuting with a close second over 1200m at this venue in January last year.

Those three wins include a victory by over a length when contesting a Benchmark 61+ handicap over this track and trip on a soft 6 surface just under a year ago.

The gelding followed that up with a close third over 1200m on a soft 5 track here the following month prior to being out of race action for over ten months.

The selection trialled over 1000m at this track at the end of last month and made the perfect return when successful by two lengths in a track and trip contest on a good 4 track May 18.

The return to a forecast wet track here is no issue and with a good barrier the four-year-old looks capable of recording his third win in four starts under Brandon Louis.

PKF Perth – Hyperion Stakes (Group 3) Tips (Race 8)

Belmont Feature Bet - Race 8 No. 1 Western Empire

The New Zealand-bred gelding has been in good form since re-joining the Grant & Alana Williams team and heading back to Western Australia.

The six-year-old, who took out the 2021 Group 1 Railway Stakes for the Williams team in 2021 has won twice and placed third once from three starts this prep.

The selection resumed with a good third when beaten just over half-a-length in a 1200m contest at Ascot when resuming in April.

The son of Iffraaj finished strongly that day and duly recorded his first win since the previously mentioned Railway Stakes win when taking the Group 3 Northam Stakes at Northam last month.

The pick recorded a comfortable two-and-a-half-length success that day and finished strongly when taking the 1400m Group 3 Belmont Sprint here two weeks ago.

The gelding had a number of his rivals here behind him when winning from a wide alley that day and stepping up in distance he is selected to complete a hat-trick.
