SILK VENEER PANELS HANDICAP Tips (Race 4)
Belmont Best Bet - Race 4 No. No. 3 Nobel Laurence
He improved enough with the race experience in his first campaign to make light work of his opposition on November 12 and saluted second-up in March over 1400m, the same pattern that brought about his July 24 victory when superbly ridden by Lucy Warwick.
While he did benefit from a more economical run, Nobel Laurence was safely holding his rivals on the line via that last performance and it's been a handy form race, with Reign Of Fire and Jedi Mind two subsequent Saturday winners to be produced from that event
A four-year-old that is maturing with racing after being quite green early days, he's still got a stack of improvement to come and losing nothing with William Pike taking the reins, is a galloper that should be working through the grades now.
DEVIL'S LAIR HANDICAP Tips (Race 6)
Belmont Value Bet - Race 6 No. 1 Kelly's Callisto
While wary of a third-up bounce back for Picture Perfect with the blinkers going, a galloper that was good fresh, this gelding put nearly four lengths on him via their most recent clash on July 31 and the former didn't have an excuse in the run.
Unfortunately, they both ran into The Spruiker who is absolutely flying, being unbeaten from five attempts this campaign and Kelly's Callisto was easily the best run outside the winner, putting more than three lengths on third, so has simply just run into a handy one.
Without The Spruiker in Saturday's assignment and reaching peak fitness now with three runs under his belt, including the 1650m effort last start, this six-year-old can roll forward again under 3kg claimer Victoria Corver and give a good sight.
HEINEKEN-BELMONT NEWMARKET Tips (Race 8)
Belmont Feature Tip - Race 8 No. 10 Pym's Royale
A galloper that's pretty well competitive in anything he contests in the 1000m to 1400m range and with 10 wins along with eight placings from 34 starts, this gelding has been terrific for the Fernie yard over the journey and he's second-up here.
While he was deeper into the preparation, Pym's Royale ran second in the last years Belmont Newmarket, a brutally run affair where the son of Husson was only a stride off grabbing Saracino, who opened up a big early lead and clung on late.
First-up in the Bolton, he produced arguably the run of the race when coming from the rear and wide off a muddling tempo after racing a little keenly throughout the run, so with predicted improvement on Saturday, he's an each-way chance in the feature.
HAPPY 60TH BIRTHDAY MARK WALKER HANDICAP Tips (Race 9)
Belmont Next Best Bet - Race 9 No. 1 Aberdeen Queen
Although she is getting a little costly, I think there's been genuine excuses for Aberdeen Queen all winter, having drawn out and forced back in so many slowly run affairs, which was again the case last Saturday, but the back-up here for an easier affair is a tick.
Another positive is 'The Wizard' William Pike does stay on from that recent effort and what is definitely worth noting is he jumps off a Bob Peters runner and equal favourite Brave Dream in the process, which is a very strong lead in itself.
The main take from last week was that she needed to draw well in her next outing, so they've definitely ticked that box with gate three in the last at Belmont this Saturday and as a proven weight carrier in a rather weak race overall, it's well and truly D-Day.
