FREE ENTRY TO BELMONT PARK HANDICAP Tips (Race 2)
Belmont Best Bet - Race 2 No. 6 Graceful Girl
This exciting filly for Williams, Peters and Pike was a little raw in her first racing preparation, culminating that campaign with back-to-back victories before being tipped out.
By Nicconi and out of the multiple Stakes winning mare, Avenida Madero who has already a pair of Group Winners in Respondent and State Solicitor, Graceful Girl appears to have more in common to the latter sibling, a sprinter with a really big turn-of-foot.
There was early money for her a fortnight ago, however, she was a notable drifter late ($2.60-$3.50) and despite catching the eye from an impossible position, found the 1100m too sharp on resumption with the extra 100m now being ideal.
CROWN TOWERS HANDICAP Tips (Race 6)
Belmont Roughie - Race 6 No. 11 What About Moi
This gelding had been unlucky not have won either side an attempt in a handy $70,000 event at Ascot with a narrow miss on debut and was just edged out by a debut Bob Peters runner on December 30, with Pike taking the shortcut on the rail to secure victory.
What About Moi managed to get the better of Smashing on that occasion, a first-up winner in the spring and a three-year-old who was competitive in two features over the carnival via ithe Group Two WA Guineas prior to running fifth in the Listed Lee-Steere Classic.
The son of Pour Moi will get over more ground, but the return was sound behind a speedy Vane Tempest and with a closer sit in what could be testing 1300m, he makes some each-appeal if you're looking around Son Son, who is the one to beat.
MORLEY GROWERS MARKET HANDICAP Tips (Race 7)
Belmont Value Bet - Race 7 No. 4 Moschard
Racing out of his grade a few times last spring was this seven-year-old who has been building well this preparation and was ready for 1400m third-up, but they stayed at 1200m on the seven day turnaround on May 15.
Running into an in-form Miss Conteki fresh, he lacked the turn-of-foot to go initially with the eventual winner second-up before finding the line strong, which suggested the seven furlongs would be ideal, a distance he has a good record over.
Moschard will handle any going, so any rain around isn't a worry and now hard fit along with getting out to this more suitable trip, this looks his chance to strike, now finally drawing a barrier for the experienced Brad Rawiller.
SEACORP HANDICAP Tips (Race 9)
Belmont Next Best Bet - Race 9 No. 3 Nerodio
He was defeated by Miss Conteki again second-up, a mare that has now won seven of eight and she got the charmed run through on May 1 whereas Nerodio had to come around them (swap the runs/swap the result).
All of his victories have come at Belmont and despite that, looked ready to win third-up on May 15, but Laqdar Romely was a little too negative early, which resulted in this gelding being forced to sustain a wide run on that occasion.
The son of Playing God still looked winner, but the charmed run through for Son Of Bacchus with 3.5kg less ultimately proved the difference and with barrier three, the talented apprentice can makes amends this Saturday.
