Cressbells Maiden Plate Tips (Race 2)
Ballarat Synthetic Next Best Bet - Race 2 No. 11 Who Shot Suzy
This progressive filly started favourite on a heavy deck last prep where she led and faded late in the piece, before being caught three-wide on the speed at Moonee Valley which is near impossible to do.
Based off the debut SP, she clearly has ability and has jumped out well in prep for her first-up assignment.
She will go forward from the gate and hopefully find the spot outside of Tequila Spirit who also shows early speed.
As long as she does not find herself three-wide once again, she is the one they need to beat in this event.

Ballarat Synthetic Best Bet - Race 5 No. 2 Design Rouge
The last time this bloke saw a synthetic track was in September of last year, where he came away a winner of No Change who has been a city performed horse subsequently.
From that win, he has been competing just about solely in city grade races, including taking out the Vobis Gold Eldorado where he beat Laverrod and I'm Telling Ya.
Although he does not win out of turn, coming back to the synthetic track where he has good form, especially here at Ballarat where he has two wins and two placings from six goes.
Although this is the same grade of race that he is competing in as last start, it is a big drop back on quality which should help him find the winners stall.

Ballarat Synthetic Value Bet Race 8 No. 6 Shilo Lass
This mare has been well and truly out of form of late, but hoping that back to some dry ground will help get things back into gear after failing on soft ground first-up.
Both career wins have come on good ground and although she has never had a start on a synthetic track, this is as close to good ground as you can get.
She has been a second-up winner in her previous prep, and has raced a lot stronger horses than what she meets here, so on her day we know she is a handy mare.
If the soft track really was the issue first-up, expect great improvement from her second-up on firm ground.
