Balaklava Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 3 A Bit Racey
This honest little mare is yet to put in a bad run from eight career starts to date and back from a Saturday BM60 to a Provincial BM54 where the favourite is coming off a Port Augusta Maiden win, she should be finding this assignment much easier.
There was some money for A Bit Racey in that September 4 outing on the Morphettville Parks track ($6.00-$5.00) and the negative tactics from a low draw proved costly, as she was forced to work home in the worst part of the track and performed well considering.
Both August trials leading into that return were solid and being competitive around some handy opposition over that first campaign, she does look well suited drawn out on Wednesday, where she carries 57kg again due to the 3kg Alana Livesey claim.

Balaklava Best Bet - Race 7 No. 2 Morialta
While there were plenty of Saturday options around for this gelding, it's good placement to simply get win number four by trainer Stuart Padman with this in-form runner, staying at BM64 level where he's still well in with 59kg after the smart claim from Jacob Opperman.
Morialta is unbeaten in two attempts at Balaklava, breaking his Maiden over the 1050m here, a trip that is on the short side for him and he also rattled home two starts back to salute when the blinkers were applied, a gear change that's been the making of him.
Although he's dropping back in trip from an easy 1400m victory at Murray Bridge (a race that's produced six winners), he does enjoy racing on the fresh side, while with the speedy Domination in this field, the tempo up front should allow him to get home.

Balaklava Value Bet - Race 8 No. 15 Master Chum
Despite there being a few different factors (weight swings, maps etc) from the Listed Leon Macdonald Stakes on August 28, I think you're pretty hard pressed to get Second Slip beat from that with those rivals that finished behind him in that August 28 feature.
A new one to this scene is Master Chum, an underrated galloper that was a listed winner last year and despite being tried over longer trips, he can sprint well fresh which was evident in the autumn when running on for third in a leader dominated event at listed level.
Sent around as a $9 chance in last year's edition of the Balaklava Cup and pulled out of the race (got badly galloped on), he'll settle off the speed and on a big circuit where they generally can get home, he could well be the blowout in the 2021 Balaklava Cup.
