Reliable Asset Maintenance Plate Tips (Race 1)
Ascot Next Best Bet - Race 1 No. 1 Deltason
The son of I’m All The Talk has shown good form in all three starts to date including when fourth over 1000m here on debut last month.
The pick was beaten less than a length having jumped at $61 from barrier fourteen that day and he again went well stepped up to Listed company here two weeks later.
The juvenile came home just over three lengths behind the winner in finishing fifth in the Supremacy Stakes that day with both of those efforts coming on a sound surface.
Meryl Hayley’s representative went on to record his first top three finish in placing third in a 1000m Plate contest at this venue recently.
The selection lost out by just over half-a-length when racing on a sound surface that day with the gelding recording good sectionals on that occasion.
The step up to 1400m is expected to suit and with regular rider Laqdar Ramoly up the chestnut is taken to record his first win.
Glenroy Chaff Handicap Tips (Race 2)
Ascot Best Bet - Race 2 No. 7 Queen Of Hawks
Daniel & Ben Pearce’s representative takes the eye here having registered two victories from her five starts to date.
The first of those came when successful in a 1113m maiden held on a sound surface at Gatton at the start of October.
The filly came home over a length clear of her nearest rival having jumped from next to the rail that day and she resumed with a good second in a small field event over 1000m at Belmont early last month.
The daughter of Sessions backed that Belmont effort up with a one-and-a-half-length fourth in an 1100m Class 1 handicap at this venue at the start of this month.
The three-year-old returned to winning ways when jumping at $1.75 for a 1113m Class 2 handicap event back at Geraldton on her most recent start.
Brad Parnham's mount looks ready for a return to metro racing and tackling a tougher contest here she is taken to complete a double.
Bisley Workwear Handicap Tips (Race 4)
Ascot Roughie - Race 4 No. 5 Mr Megsey
While the gelding has just one win to his name, a 1705m maiden at Bunbury in December 2023 he has recorded some good efforts in recent starts having made just one start in 2024.
The son of Trade Fair was beaten just under five lengths when fourth over 1600m in a Class 1 event here three starts back.
Robyn Lockwood’s representative jumped at $26 for that contest and while he failed to shine in a similar event here next time he appeared to have no issues stepped up to this distance subsequently.
The pick stayed on nicely on that occasion and while he has a bit to find with Keggs Later and Ocean Ranger on that form he remains unexposed over this distance.
The gelding is set to wear a lugging bit for the first time here and with Jason Whiting retaining the ride he may prove up to surprising some better-fancied rivals.
Morley Growers Market Handicap Tips (Race 6)
Ascot Value Bet - Race 6 No. 5 Zorbrist
The son of Nostradamus registered top three finishes at Northam in each of his first three starts including when runner-up over 1300m at the track in October.
While the gelding failed to make an impact at Belmont subsequently he returned to action with a good fourth place finish over 1200m here last month.
The selection was beaten just over half-a-length on that occasion and duly justified short-priced favouritism when saluting in a 1400m maiden at Kalgoorlie earlier this month.
The three-year-old came home over five lengths clear of his nearest rival when kicking clear of his five rivals on that occasion.
While the pick failed to make an impact when down the field in a Class 1 handicap at Pinjarra subsequently he can be forgiven that effort having been fractious in the barriers.
Neville Parnham’s representative boasts a good barrier six from the rail here and with regular rider Kesha Dhurun up he looks value to record the second win of his career.
