The runner-up that day won next time with the pick going on to finish a solid fifth when racing over this distance here two weeks later.

While beaten just under three-and-a-half-lengths the gelding had winners in behind him that day with the ninth and tenth both registering subsequent victories.

The selection has joined the in form Donna Riordan since with the handler having registered wins with two of her four runners in the last month.

Barrier eight shouldn’t pose too many issues in this contest and he looks value to record a win under Joseph Azzopardi.
