TABTOUCH WESTSPEED PLATINUM HANDICAP Tips (Race 2)
Ascot Next Best Bet - Race 2 No. 4 Blackwater Bay
A talented son of the mighty Blackfriars, Blackwater Bay is a full brother to Group One winner Come Play With Me and like his older sibling, he looks as though he'll relish the middle distance and staying journeys so the resumption over 1800m isn't a complete shock.
He broke through at start number four over the Ascot mile last April and did so in style before being tipped out then resuming over the same track/trip on October 28, where he did have some excuses when held-up at a key stage in the straight as a well supported favourite.
William Pike was aboard for his first four starts and takes back the reins on the four-year-old this Saturday, who did trial well last month and if right, looks clearly the one with the most upside in this line-up.
SHEILA GWYNNE CLASSIC Tips (Race 4)
Ascot Best Bet - Race 4 No. 3 Tycoon Storm
Unbeaten from two attempts this autumn and continuing to build on what is already an impressive record, this mare is looking for her first black-type victory in the Sheila Gwynne Classic where she's clearly the one to roll off current form.
Given the betting drift ($6.50-$10.00) and the unplaced fresh attempt last campaign, Tycoon Storm's first-up victory was somewhat of a surprise and after taking the box-seat second-up, pushed through for what was a soft win on April 3.
Watch Me Dance was the runner-up in that last clash and her job to make up a length has become even harder given the Set Weights & Penalties conditions of this race, meeting the favourite 1.5kg worse off from that clash.
MORLEY GROWERS MARKET HANDICAP Tips (Race 5)
Ascot Value Bet - Race 5 No. 8 She's God To You
While her rating certainly doesn't reflect it, this lightly race filly has been competitive against good company, following an eye-catching debut with a narrow defeat to Snickerdoodledandy, who won two of her next three starts including a Listed victory.
Ambling up at the 100m and travelling as if she was going to put a space on them via that July 4 event, the daughter of Playing God perhaps could've prevailed on that occasion with some earlier urgency albeit the winner was brave.
Breaking her Maiden second-up in the Spring before being spelled, She's God To You continued to find first-up despite being defeated by Image Keeper, who franked that form by bringing up a winning hat-trick last Saturday and down in the weights here, can give a sight if they're positive.
CROWN PERTH HANDICAP Tips (Race 9)
Ascot Value Bet - Race 9 No. 2 Bogart
A son of Redoute's Choice and out of the dam Avante, a Group Three winning sprinter, the big and long striding Bogart hasn't had much luck since winning first-up at Pinjarra with this being the easiest task he's faced since that triumph.
The four-year-old was completely unsuited when dropping back to 1200m second-up, but stuck on well for fourth before jumping straight to mile on March 20 and running second to the in-form That's Funny Az, who is well in the market for the Diggers Cup (Race 8).
Although defeated by that same runner again on April 10, he was held-up and then racing in restricted room for much of the run home as a $3.80 second favourite while here, is more than double the price in a weaker race, and gets good relief after the Laqdar Ramoly claim.
