Although very raw, this four-year-old showed enough late in a Nowra trial on a soft track behind a useful Blue Missile, prior to his debut at Queanbeyan on September 17 over the 1200m.
Drawing wide and beaten for speed early, Borislav looked very new to the caper, but he continued to make inroads throughout that contest, knuckling down to chase and grab third, beaten just over a length.
This gelding will get over ground, so the step up to 1400m is a plus and in an average maiden where many of these have had chances, he'd only need to make natural improvement at start two to be in the mix.

GPE BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP Tips (Race 7)
Albury Best Bet - Race 7 No. 4 Kermatin
The only logical threats to this mare appear to be Club Legend (well suited this grade/wet track, but big weight and limited) and Saint Henry (will be thereabouts, but won just two from 28 overall).
Kermatin looks the runner in this field with clearly the most upside, a daughter of Kermadec that went back-to-back over a mile at starts five and six over the autumn before being tipped out.
Catching the eye late fresh before being completely unsuited out wide at Rosehill in a Highway attempt, the four-year-old is now third-up and at 1600m, the pattern which brought about her big maiden win.

ALBURY DEMOLITIONS CLASS 3 HANDICAP Tips (Race 8)
Albury Next Best Bet - Race 8 No. 1 Branders Rule
This gelding has ability, a maiden winner back in May of 2020 before joining the Peter Moody yard for a short stint, finishing fourth at group level first-up as a three-year-old before tapering off that prep.
Back under the care of local trainer Mitch Beer, Branders Rule has mixed his form over seven outings to date, although what does stand out is the two wins and that stakes effort were all on soft tracks.
That's the conditions he'll get here, winning fresh with the same set-up (defeated an in-form Mathrin) before crossing the border for a BM70, where he felt the pinch late on a Good 3 in a much stronger affair than this.
