The 2020 Group 3 Grand Prix Stakes will be held at Eagle Farm on Boxing Day where a group of up and coming stayers battle it out over 2200m.
Chris Waller colt The Elanora is a well deserved favourite off the back of two very impressive victories, but has drawn the carpark in barrier 12.

|The Elanora (Chris Waller)||$2.60|
|Mr Gee (John O'Shea)||$5|
|See Marie (Desleigh Forster)||$6|
|Dhakuri (James Cummings)||$6.50|
|Toscanini (Ciaron Maher and David Eustace)||$9.50|
|Way Beyond (Stuart Kendrick)||$15|
|Hopkins (Trent Bussuttin and Natalie Young)||$27|
Odds from Ladbrokes
There doesn't look to be much speed engaged in the race with plenty of horses preferring to get back and run on so far in their career.
Expect Glen Boss to roll forward and find a positive position aboard The Elanora from barrier twelve, while Pure Deal and Alraaj has shown speed in the past. Dune Forty Five sat handy with the blinkers on for the first time last start and expect the son of Americain to do the same once again.
Grand Prix Stakes Best Bet - Dune Forty Five
This may be a 'Breednet bet' after delving into his pedigree leading into the race, but the son of Americain has been crying out for this distance since his debut a month ago.
Debuting in a Three-Year-Old Handicap over 1400m behind Dszenifer on the Sunshine Coast, Dune Forty Five got back from the wide draw and ran home very well to finish midfield, producing identical closing sectionals to Palladas in the same race.
After disappointing over the mile second-up, the blinkers were applied over 1820 in his last start, battling on bravely to finish fourth, beaten under two-lengths by Good Soize.
Despite not being well in at the weights, the step up to 2200m for the first time looks a massive bonus being a son of Americain out of a Canny Lad mare. Bred to be a true stayer, Dune Forty Five is worth an each-way play.
2020 Group 3 Grand Prix Stakes Next Best - Dhakuri
Another gelding bred to thrive over a staying trip, James Cummings trained Dhakuri will be forced to overcome the widest draw to win on Saturday, but stepping out to 2200m for the first time looks well placed with Brad Stewart on board.
After producing a booming finish two starts back at Rosehill over 1800m, the son of Contributer was very unlucky behind The Elanora last start when Rachel King was forced to bide her time before finding clear running room.
Charging into third that day, Dhakuri is a large striding gelding who will thrive stepping out over the wide Eagle Farm track.
By Contributer and out of an Encosta De Lago mare, Dhakuri looks primed to produce the best run of his preparation this weekend and can stamp himself as a staying prospect at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
Despite The Elanora being a well deserved favourite for Saturday's Group 3 Grand Prix Stakes at Eagle Farm, Dune Forty Five is bred to love the trip and will be strong throughout.
Godolphin's Dhakuri will also be very hard to beat over the 2200m and gains the services of Brad Stewart.
