Moruya Tips & Value Bets For Friday, October 4

Country racing heads to Moruya for an eight race card this Friday afternoon where the track is currently rated at a Good 4 and mild conditions are expected.

The rail is in the true position.

Moruya Best Bet

Race 8, No. 1 Francisco Pizaro

Four-year-old gelding by Skilled who returns for his third racing preparation following a sound trial at Canberra on September 20 and his one career win came first-up last campaign on this track.

Was entered in some much tougher races after that breakthrough and one of them efforts included an unlucky second in the Canberra Guineas Preview to Sausedge who's no slouch and has accepted at Warwick Farm on Monday.

Has drawn poorly which is the obvious knock but you only need to look at the ratings of his opposition to realize how little depth there is to this event and he has clearly the best exposed form.

Class should just about get him home.

Moruya Best Bet: Francisco Pizaro - $2.90 via Bet365

Moruya Best Each Way

Race 4 No. 1 Pedway

Lightly raced albeit a well traveled six-year-old now in the care of the Gratz Vella stable in Canberra and is resuming here.

Has had his fair share of issues but a lack of ability when right isn't one of them as he has been competitive at city level and has a placing behind a listed winner in Soothing.

Arrives here off two trials which have been very sound behind a talented one in Handle The Truth and whilst he was never asked to come off the bridle which is the query, he was travelling nicely and under a good hold throughout.

Blinkers go on from them hit-outs, 62kg is irrelevant over this short sprint trip and it's not a vintage affair if he happens to find his best.

Moruya Best Each Way: Pedway - $7.50 via Neds

What time is the first race at Moruya?

Race 1 kicks off at 1.00pm.

When is the Moruya Cup?

The Moruya Cup is held in January and Animalia won the 2019 edition, worth $50,000.

Tough sort of card but Francisco Pizaro has the best form in the last and just needs a bit of luck from the wide alley.

Taking Pedway on trust somewhat but I couldn't fault his trials and he's a decent each way price for the risk.

Best Bet: Francisco Pizaro @2.90 at bet365 - 8 Units
Best Each Way: Pedway @7.50 at Neds - 2 Units
