Mornington Preview & Best Bets

Mornington will host its first meeting of the season Tuesday with what looks a reasonable card.

The track will most likely race heavy, so horses need to be able to handle the wet.

Race 5 No. 1 All In Brawl

It is not often that you see Damien Oliver go to the provincials for one ride, but that's exactly what he is doing for this gallopers first up assault.

Last preparation most of his form was based on a synthetic track behind some smart horses.

He sits up on the pace and with D. Oliver on board, he will utilise barrier three. His only ever win came first up and the stable change from John Price to Richard Laming looks a good one for me.

I can't find many negatives about this horse, leaving him as my best bet of the day.

Race 1 No. 1 Belle's A Rebel

I have found some value in the first with Belle's A Rebel.

I liked this galloper when she had her only start last campaign at Moe on a heavy track.

Craig Williams rode the horse that day and was stuck back on the fence and lost all her momentum in the straight.

She has come back with a nice trial on August 19 on a heavy eight at Cranbourne with Ben Melham in the saddle so he would be acquainted with the horse now.

He sticks with Belle's A Rebel today and if she can produce a finish like she has shown she can in previous jump outs, she will be hard to beat here.
