Ipswich Tips December 9
LJ HOOKER IPSWICH Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 2 Handicap Tips (Race 3)
Ipswich Value Bet - Race 3 No. 1 Samurai
Despite entering the race first-up over 1350m, Samurai looks ready to fire fresh off three trials.
After failing on a bog track at the Sunshine Coast during the Group 3 Winx Guineas, the Noel Doyle-trained four-year-old has finished in the quinella in his last four attempts over the distance.
Finishing his first two trials off strongly from just behind the speed, there was no footage available in his latest trial at Beaudesert.
Drawn to land on the speed from barrier four, Samurai looks ready to run a strong race straight away Jag Guthman-Chester aboard.
SEVEN BENCHMARK 70 Handicap Tips (Race 4)
Ipswich Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 5 Rebel Rock
If you backed Rebel Rock at his latest start you could be forgiven for punching a wall next to you, but he can make amends stepping up to the 1680m with a key booking of Michael Rodd.
After two terrific runs back, the Peter and Will Hulbert-trained son of Rothesay was heavily backed last start at Ipswich but failed to ever see clear air, hard held the entire straight.
Drawn to once again land at the rear of the field from barrier eight, a step up in distance looks a major positive for the four-year-old gelding who has failed to miss the quinella in two starts over the distance.
Forgiving his last start horror show and gaining the services of Michael Rodd, Rebel Rock looks well placed to make amends for his last start loss as one of the best bets of the day.
TAB VENUE MODE Fillies and Mares Class 2 Handicap Tips (Race 6)
Ipswich Favourite - Race 6 No. 4 Flirty Deb
After chasing home Dis Dah Wun at Ipswich last start, Flirty Deb looks ready to breakthrough for a well deserved victory from a good draw.
Stringing together four fantastic runs thus far this preparation, the four-year-old mares latest effort at Ipswich behind Dis Dah Wun was terrific.
Settling behind the winner in the run, the Fred Adam trained daughter of Better Than Ready has only had one try over the 1350m which is a slight concern, however, the booking of apprentice Kyle Wilson-Taylor from an inside draw should provide her with every chance to run out the trip.
Drawn beautifully to land in the lead from barrier two, Flirty Deb has been outstanding this preparation and looks ready to breakthrough.
CONGRATULATIONS ELLEN & JACKSON BENCHMARK 70 Handicap (Race 8)
Ipswich Best Bet - Race 8 No. 3 Lilli Lights Out
A fresh flyer having won three from four first-up attempts, Lilli Lights Out looks well to continue her terrific record from a gun draw.
The four-year-old daughter of Better Than Ready has been kept to the shorter sprints and enters this race off a 650m trial win at Toowoomba.
Boasting a terrific record over 800m to 900m, the four-year-old has won four of ten starts and has won three of four first-up runs including a nearly four-length romp last preparation.
Brad Pengelly has a strong affiliation with this mare who looks well placed from a good draw as the best bet at Ipswich.
