WHITTINGTON @ GRANDVIEW STUD OPEN Handicap Tips (Race 3)

Ipswich Value Bet - Race 3 No. 2 Alward

This Chris Waller-trained seven-year-old gelding has been racing consistently since arriving in Queensland and looks primed to record a breakthrough victory this weekend.

After being caught wide and forced to work early last start over 2200m at Doomben, he fought on very well to hold onto third, finishing on the heels of winner Another Dollar.

The son of Aqlaam has recorded all eight victories on good tracks, and has strong form over this distance despite not recording a win.

Jumping from barrier five, Luke Dittman takes the ride where he will settle in the box seat behind the leaders and prove very hard to hold out.

SIRROMET Colts, Geldings and Entires BENCHMARK 78 Handicap Tips (Race 4)

Ipswich Each-Way Bet - Race 4 No. 2 Langhro

The Steven O’Dea-trained son of Lonhro performs brilliantly fresh and enters this assignment over 1200m off an outstanding trial at Doomben.

The seven-year-old gelding jumped straight to the lead in the trial where he charged home in 58.66, the second fastest trial of the day behind Roman Aureus (58.61).

After showing plenty of promise for Mick Price in Victoria, Langhro switched to the O'Dea stable in 2019 and has displayed a similar level of consistency, winning twice and placing a further four times from 12 attempts.

Back to 1200m off a short break, Justin Huxtable climbs aboard and from barrier two, looks a great each-way play at the odds available.

FOLLOW RACING @IPSWICHTURFCLUB Class 6 Plate Tips (Race 5)

Ipswich Best Bet - Race 5 No. 10 Wren's Day

The James Cummings-trained Godolphin galloper has seen more rain than Noah’s Ark since arriving to Australia, and looks primed to strike back on top of the ground.

He was a massive improver last start, charging home to finish on the heels of Soxagon, stopping the clock at 1-18.94 and 34.18 for the last 600m, identical to the Listed Spear Chief on the same day (1-18.42/34.48).

He has a strong record on Good ground with a win and two seconds, including a second placing to superstar stallion Cracksman in Europe.

Jumping from barrier three, Andrew Mallyon takes the ride where he is poised to stalk the leaders and record his second victory in Australia.

RAY WHITE IPSWICH Fillies and Mares BENCHMARK 78 Handicap Tips (Race 6)

Ipswich Next Best Bet - Race 6 No. 9 Maddi Rocks

The Chris Waller-trained three-year-old filly was unlucky first-up at Eagle Farm finishing on the heels of Quantico, but looks primed to return to the winners circle.

A speedy filly possessing a powerful finish, the daughter of Fastnet Rock was held up for a run for the most of the straight last-start at Eagle Farm before powering through the line.

She has a wonderful record on good ground recording two wins and two placings from six attempts, with both wins over this distance.

Star hoop Ryan Maloney takes the ride from barrier two, allowing him to stalk the speed before unleashing her turn of foot.

EYE LINER STAKES Tips (Race 7)

Ipswich Feature Tip - Race 7 No. 4 Boomsara

This four-year-old gelding failed to live up to expectations last preparation, be he bounced back to form with a massive run first-up in the Ramornie Handicap and looks primed to strike second-up.

After failing to produce upon his great potential last campaign, the Chris Munce-trained gelding returned with a strong trial alongside Multaja before nearly leading all the way against a strong Ramornie Handicap field.

Possessing a good record with a win and three placings over 1200m, the Spirit Of Boom gelding performs best on top of the ground where he has three wins and four placings from twelve attempts.

Drawn perfectly in barrier five, Brad Stewart is drawn to either lead or take a sit behind the leaders, and looks extremely hard to beat second-up.
