2020 Everest champion Classique Legend stepped out for his first trial in Hong Kong where he left a few punters scratching their heads.
Current odds-on favourite to take out next weekends Hong Kong Sprint (1200m), the five-year-old gelding trialled over 1000m at Sha Tin on Saturday in a piece of work which left many wanting more.
Shortly proceeding the news regular rider Kerrin McEvoy had chosen not to quarantine at Sha Tin for the race, the grey flash worked well down the straight in behind runners, however, when asked for a little more effort over the concluding stages he didn't seem to pick up when asked.
Arguably the worlds best sprinter following his demolition job during the Everest, Classique Legend is the short-priced favourite for the HK$22 million Hong Kong Sprint at Sha Tin on December 13.
