Provincial Thursday racing in NSW will be run at Hawkesbury this week where the rail is in the true position throughout (+4m 1300m to winning post on 23/06).

Soft 6 is the current track reading although mostly fine conditions are expected over the next few days.

Hawkesbury Best Bet - Race 4 No. 1 Circularity

Star hoop Glen Boss comes to Hawkesbury for just the one ride this Thursday which is aboard this Maher & Eustace-trained two-year-old who resumes a few stones lighter as a gelding.

There was clearly some early opinion of Circularity who debuted for a midfield finish on debut via the Group Three Breeders Plate back in October 2019 before being sent for a spell.

The beaten margin details an eight-length defeat when campaigning in Brisbane on February 29 although to be fair, Rothfire who's one of the best two-year-old's in the country, put four and a half lengths on the second placed runner in that Doomben event.

Boss was on the back of Circularity in a nice trial at Warwick Farm on June 16 and coming for only a Provincial Maiden, we'll make him the best bet on a competitive Hawkesbury card.

Hawkesbury Next Best Bet - Race 5 No. 3 Nishka

Resuming off a little freshen-up is this filly from the Ron Quinton stable who didn't have the best of luck last time out at Wyong on June 4.

A half-sister to a stakes-winner in Snitch, Nishka resumed with a fair midfield effort for sixth when resuming in a Benchmark 70 at Warwick Farm in what's been a decent form race.

Four subsequent winners finished behind her on that occasion which includes Whisky Shooter who comfortably scored in a Benchmark 78 via her latest attempt in Melbourne.

With a little more luck earlier from an inside alley (was inconvenienced early at Wyong), Nishka can land a little closer in the run and her recent form is certainly good enough for a Fillies & Mares line-up at this level.

Hawkesbury Value Bet - Race 6 No. 5 Rabbit Clause

There was a decent rails and on-pace bias on the Wyong June 18 card which definitely attributed to the big losing margin for this gelding in the last race of that program which was handed on a platter to the early leader in Buzz.

By Your Song and out of a group three winning mare in Kats Clause, his breeding suggests that it's worth persevering with the 1300m journey, especially going off the June 4 fresh effort

Rabbit Clause was ridden conservatively on that occasion over the 1100m before doing his best work late for fourth, where he was just over half a length off the winner.

Adam Hyeronimus now takes the reins on Rabbit Clause and with each way odds available, this is clearly the longest price that this galloper has been in his career to date.
