Happy Valley Tips For March 4 2020

Barring the opening event, this Happy Valley eight race card consists of Class 3 & 4 line-ups on Wednesday night.

The first race starts at 10.15pm for the eastern state viewers in Australia.

Happy Valley Best Bet

Race 8 No. 2 This Is Class

Despite rising in the weights, this son of So You Think looks the most progressive horse in this field.

He just peaked on his run late for second when resuming on January 22 but improved off that performance with a soft two length victory on February 5.

As touched on at the beginning, he goes up to 59kg off that performance which is the query, however he's not foreign to carrying an impost to victory with a three and a half length win last season with 58.5kg.

This Is Class still has upside whilst he's expected to roll forward again and take catching as the best bet at Happy Valley this evening.

Happy Valley Next Best Bet

Race 3 No. 1 Classic Posh

Coming back to Class 4 level now is this gelding from the David Hall stable who's resuming off the back of three trials.

A good lead is Zac Purton in the saddle, who's sticking from his last two hit-outs and was given a look at Happy Valley in a nice trial performance on February 15 for third.

On that occasion he went to line with Good Omen and Glorious Spectrum who are both Class 2/Class 3 runners, so this four-year-old has to respected in much easier company.

Following a string of competitive Hong Kong attempts, this looks Classic Posh's chance to breakthrough from barrier four where he should get a lovely run in transit.

Race 5 No. 5 This Is Charisma

His debut run at big odds was stronger than the finishing position suggested which has been vindicated in his two starts following that over the Happy Valley six furlongs.

There was definite excuses last time out on February 12 when after he looked to be laboring a little when the sprint went on, he picked up rather well but just found nothing but heels and backsides in the last 100m.

Karis Teetan takes the reins tonight and having drawn barrier one again, he'll be searching for that midfield sit off a what should be a good tempo.

This Is Charisma around at $5 last start and finds himself more than double that price in the early betting markets currently.

Happy Valley Roughie

Race 4 No. 2 Mighty Power

Whilst he's admittedly been disappointing in six Hong Kong appearances to date, this five-year-old didn't have the best of luck on February 5.

Rising from six furlongs to the 1650m and second-up off a decent spell, he was shoved in a pocket at a key stage in the straight when whilst it was a little inconclusive as to how well he was travelling, he should've finished closer.

Mighty Power comes back to Class 4 company this evening and like many that do come back from Class 3's after a run of outs, they can improve out of sight.

Up to the 1800m now and from barrier three, he should get far a softer midfield passage home and at long odds, shouldn't be dismissed in a field that's lacking standouts.
