Happy Valley Tips For March 11 2020

Barring the opening race which is a Class 5, this Happy Valley eight race card consists of Class 3 & 4 line-ups on Wednesday night.

The first race starts at 10.15pm for the eastern state viewers in Australia.

Happy Valley Best Bet

Race 6 No. 4 Villa Fionn

Since his last victory in December of 2019, this son of Sebring hasn't had a whole lot of luck which has been mostly evident via his last two attempts.

Forget he went around on February 5 where he saw nothing but backsides in the straight and backing up from that a week later, was clearly the pick of those making ground from the rear.

Zac Purton now takes the reins which is as good as any gear change in Hong Kong and whilst this galloper can be tardy away at times, this champion hoop won't waste barrier two if he steps away even fairly.

Many of Villa Fionn's opposition are out of form and with any luck this evening, he can salute as the best bet at Happy Valley.

Happy Valley Next Best Bet

Race 1 No. 1 Ka Ying Brilliance

This son of Canford Cliffs dropped back to Class 5 level on the Sha Tin all weather circuit last time out and was only narrowly reeled in late.

The drop back in grade was clearly the catalyst for the improvement as it is for many of these lower rated runners and with claiming apprentice on, he drops a few kilos off that run which could prove the difference here.

With that weight advantage, Alfred Chan is expected to roll forward on this five-year-old where he should have that early tactical advantage over the logical threat in Galaxy Racer.

It's rather low race but I'd rather be closer to the front than the back in these sort of events and off his last run, Ka Ying Brilliance should be giving them something to catch.

Happy Valley Value Bet

Race 5 No. 4 Jumbo Happiness

Following some interrupted campaigns, this gelding has finally been able to put a few runs together which going off his better results, he generally needs before a peak performance.

He was safely held at big odds when resuming over the five furlongs on January 15 before a much improved effort when finding the line on February 5.

This Caspar Fownes-trained galloper was stepping up to the Happy Valley 1200m there, a track and trip where all of his good form comes over and despite the gap between runs, was kept ticking over with an easy recent trial.

Jumbo Happiness draws for a soft run in transit from barrier three and with any improvement tonight, is a value chance in the fifth from Happy Valley.
