This colt was a big drifter first-up over 1400m off the back of two very impressive Melbourne wins, but the fact that he still went super, signals that he is flying.

Getting up to the mile and beyond only sits in his favour, and the addition of Jim Byrne in the saddle does only add confidence to his chances.

From gate 13, Green belt is going to get back, but we know he has the class to win and with a touch of luck on his side, he will solidify his Queensland Derby favouritism.

He had a reasonably light Sydney campaign, tackling just one heavy track across the carnival which is going to sit well from a Brisbane perspective.

That carnival took the gas out of plenty of horses, but with such a light campaign and with class on his side, that is going to take him a long way in this event.

The mile is perfect, he can land midfield from the gate and coming from the Waller yard, this does look perfect placement and potentially a target.

Second-up and over a mile looks suitable for this galloper who was tested behind Gypsy Goddess over further last preparation.

Ashgrove was a dominant winner over a mile last prep in what was arguably a career best effort, although he does face what will be his toughest test to date.

Still on the way up, this is the colt that is on an upwards trajectory, trying to find his spot in the three-year-old middle distance/staying ranks.
