Although his Moonee Valley record isn't great, this Godolphin gelding has contested in some high level races whereas this is more the type of even that's well within his grasp.

This boy loves Moonee Valley, having only missed a top three finish once from five attempts.

The son of Tavistock performed well at his first two runs for the campaign when finishing third in the Doveton and second in an Open Handicap behind the Standish winner Sirius Suspect.

Despite performing well below average last start, we'll forgive that run for now, coming into the Australia Stakes off a freshen-up.

Tavisan should take up the running with Streets Of Avalon and this small field where it looks likely to develop into a sprint home for the on-pace runners, he should get every chance.

If for some reason the leaders decide to make this a contest over the final 800m, this mare is the one that has the x-factor to finish over the top.

She has been solid this prep, with a fourth in the Linlithgow and a third in the Heffernan at Sandown, both deeper affairs to what's on offer here.
