The VRC Oaks (Ladies Day) is a Melbourne Cup Carnival feature that has stood the test of time.
First raced in 1861, the Oaks has produced some amazing wins including recently with Miss Finland, Samantha Miss and of course Jameka who subsequently won the Caulfield Cup.
In the last six years, the form out of the Oaks has not proven to be strong enough at the top level as they stretch into their four-year-old season and this year could very well be the same.

This filly is by Pierro who has already produced both an Oaks and Derby winner in his stud career to date, so they can stay.
Having only seen wet tracks throughout her career, Morrissette could well be a better filly on top of the ground, but it is disappointing we will not get to see that as there is rain due.
