The Vinery Stud Stakes is one of two Group One races ran this Saturday at Rosehill.

A key lead-up for the Australian Oaks, this event gained Group One status back in 1993 and its seen many dominant fillies of their era take it out.

Off a strong second-up effort in the Randwick Guineas and now back against her own sex, Harmony Rose is the outright favourite at $2.90 with PlayUp.

2021 Vinery Stud Stakes Tips

2021 Vinery Stud Stakes Best Bet - Harmony Rose

Barring the New Zealand galloper Force Of Will, this is the only runner in the 2021 Vinery Stud Stakes that is dropping back to fillies' grade, which is a huge factor and her fighting effort second-up effort in the Group One Randwick Guineas was terrific.

Arriving to that March 6 feature off a strong return win at the Midweeks, the daughter of Glass Harmonium was forced to do some work in that last effort, where she seemingly peaked at the 200m in a race set up for the back-markers, but fought on with the subsequent Rosehill Guineas winner Mo'unga just grabbing her late.

With a March 26 trial under her belt to help compensate for the gap between runs, Harmony Rose has been big winner at the barrier draw where from gate one, Josh Parr can dictate this event given there's no natural leaders among her rivals and should be the one to catch off the gun map.

2021 Vinery Stud Stakes Value Bet - Impecunious

While it was only a Class 1, it was an arrogant Australian debut victory over 1200m back in December which saw the Busuttin & Young stable spell this filly straight away with loftier autumn goals in mind and resuming in the Group Two Armanasco Stakes on February 20, it's fair to say she should've gone back-to-back.

After settling back in that small field, the outside passage never presented early in the straight which forced Glen Boss back to inside, where he was chopped out of a run then picked herself up when it was all over to only go down half a length.

With expected improvement to come now third-up, the Phar Lap stakes performance should of topped her off nicely for this step up in trip where drawing to the outside and getting Damien Oliver back in the saddle, are both positives this Saturday.

Verdict

From a low draw and a soft map, Harmony Rose looks the most bombproof option in the 2021 Vinery Stud Stakes.

Impecunious could be the big improver over 2000m and is a winning chance at a double figure quote.
