The Everest is fast becoming one of the feature sprint races across the globe and worth $15 million, is the richest thoroughbred race in the world run on turf.

This is a one-of-a-kind race in Australia held at Randwick every October and slots are purchased for $600,000 with the owners choosing their respective runner.

As expected, there's a strong group of sprinters assembled for the 2021 edition and we analyse the key chances below.

The Everest Tips 2021

The Everest 2021 Best Bet - Classique Legend

Camping off a hot tempo under Kerrin McEvoy, Classique Legend was dominant in the last year's edition, with the striking grey making Australia's best sprinters look like B Graders in the process.

This six-year-old is still so lightly raced with just the 13 starts to his name, so there's still room for Les Bridge to turn him back around following a short and failed Hong Kong stint.

The master trainer has opted to go into the $15 million dollar feature first-up, a risk, albeit the gelding has improved with each trial and if anywhere near his top, he has to be the starting point here.

The Everest 2021 Next Best Bet - Gytrash

He was the forgotten runner in The Shorts and arguably should've made bookies pay at a double figure quote, resuming with a luckless third behind Nature Strip and Eduardo via the key lead-up.

That made it the first time in four clashes where Nature Strip had got the better of Gytrash, with the South Australian beating him home on three prior occasions, yet he's again a much bigger quote.

I was surprised connections weren't happy with gate one, as he'll naturally land that shade closer and will do no work off a strong speed, two key factors that he'll need to get across the line here.

The Everest 2021 Value Bet - The Inferno

The ex-Singapore galloper has won up to a mile, albeit his sweet spot is 1200m, so off a fast run six furlongs here, this five-year-old shouldn't have any problems running on late if the track is fair.

While we're yet to see him tested against the best in Australia, it's hard to knock the record for The Inferno, a galloper that has only missed the top two once due to being ridden too close at Caulfield.

For such a big, strong type that clearly needs galloping room, he's done well to acquit himself at The Valley over 1000m, so now to the bigger surrounds of Randwick, there's enough in his favour.

Verdict

Classique Legend is still top seed for the 2021 Everest as there's no indications early that he isn't back on track for trainer Les Bridge.

Gytrash produced the best run in The Shorts and from a soft run in transit, he warrants respect.

At big odds, The Inferno has some claims, especially if they can run on out wider.

Best Bet: Classique Legend To Win $4.20 at Bookmaker - 6 Units
Next Best Bet: Gytrash To Win $8.00 at Bookmaker - 3 Units
