The Tattersall's Tiara is the final Group 1 of the season and a big field has been assembled for this 1400m fillies and mares feature, which is run under weight-for-age conditions at Eagle Farm.

Bella Nipotina (barrier 17) is in career best form, with the six-year-old finishing in the top two via her last four attempts at Group 1 level and the highlight among those was her victory in the Doomben 10,000 on May 18.

She lost no admirers via a narrow defeat in the Stradbroke Handicap, where the Ciaron Maher-trained mare carried topweight of 56kg and in the process, she was spotting 6kg to Stefi Magnetica (winner).

C'est Magique (barrier 9) saluted on stable debut for Chris Waller when taking out the Group 2 Dane Ripper Stakes on Stradbroke Handicap Day and the four-year-old broke a big winning drought via that June 15 triumph.

Her two Group 1 attempts have been over 1200m and the pick of those performances was a runner-up finish in the 2022 Coolmore Stud Stakes.

Another key contender from the Ciaron Maher stable is Semana (barrier 6), who was well held as a 20/1 chance in the Stradbroke Handicap, however, that was her first run since contesting the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf on April 13, so there's improvement to come.

The daughter of Winning Rupert defeated Olentia and C'est Magique when taking out the Group 3 Triscay Stakes in February.

Opal Ridge (barrier 5) was unlucky in two Brisbane attempts last winter and while she raced flat last start following a return win at Scone, it's worth noting her lack of second-up form.

Tattersall's Tiara Winners

The Tattersall's Tiara was first run in 1989 and is a somewhat 'fresh' event to the Queensland racing calendar, given the other majors date much further back.

The race has been run over 1500m for much of its history, but in 2007 was introduced with a new distance of 1400m.

A fillies and mares event under WFA conditions, the Tatt's Tiara is the final Group 1 of the Australian racing season, with the first Group 1 of the new season contested in late August.

Tofane (2021), Startantes (2022) and Palaisapan (2023) have won the last three editions of the Tattersall's Tiara.
