The champion claimed an 11th Group One victory in the Chipping Norton and via a thin edition of the Ranvet Stakes, she couldn't be better placed to record a 12th.
There's no Addeybb to challenge Verry Elleegant this autumn, with the mare taking his scalp in last year's edition, a field that also included Sir Dragonet and Colette.
She's suffered only one defeat on her home track at Rosehill, which was a half length loss to Addeybb in the 2020 edition, but put more than five lengths on Avilius there.
Montefilia is a classy and underrated galloper, but the Chipping Norton return was just a run, while third-up and to 2000m, it's hard to argue against the short-priced fav.

2022 Ranvet Stakes Roughie - Entente
While he won over 2400m at Group 3 level last spring en-route to a Metrop, I've always felt this classy gelding is that bit more effective over 10 furlongs.
Despite looking quite forward at the trials, Entente always needs a run or two to hit his straps and peaking late on Feb 19, it was a pass mark fresh with a big weight.
He was again carrying 59.5kg and spotting significant weight to rivals second-up, where he never handled a Heavy 10, but a Soft 5-7 is fine and only needs a slight upgrade.
From leading or using Angel Of Truth as a bunny, the map is kind and he is unbeaten from four third-up attempts, so could be the quinella/exacta play with the fav.
